New Business: H-19-001 – 933 East Main Street – Requesting to remodel the exterior of the home by expanding the kitchen area. This property is located on the north side of East Main Street. The house was constructed circa 1948 in Colonial Revival style architecture with a classical porch. It is a two-story brick structure with a gable roof. The house is a contributing structure in the East Main Historic District of the National Register of Historic Places. Expansion involves extending a wall 6 feet 8 inches to the rear for a larger kitchen area. Brick selection is to match as closely as possible, no new windows will be added. The existing door will be replaced with a new door. Roof line will continue as a flat roof matching the abutting roof. The upper railing will be extended to match the existing roof railing. No work will be done to the front elevation of the home. A patio will be placed off the back door continuing the current path way. Photographs of the house as it exist today, as well the neighboring structures have been submitted for the Commission’s review. The applicants will be in attendance at the meeting in order to answer any questions the Commission may have regarding the request.
