Regular Meeting Minutes of the Historic Zoning Commission July 16, 2019 MEMBERS PRESENT: ABSENT: Jim Thompson, Chairman Debra Belcher David Becker, Vice-Chair Rick Cantrell Bill Jakes Linda Anderson Marimae White Jennifer Garland Gib Backlund STAFF PRESENT: Dianna Tomlin, Principal Planner Brenda Davis, Recording Assistant David Ives, Assistant Attorney Matthew Blomeley, Assistant Planning Director Chairman Thompson called the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m. Ms. Garland made a motion to approve the June 18, 2019 minutes. The motion was seconded by Ms. Anderson and carried unanimously in favor. New Business: Mr. Blomeley came to the podium and announced that Dianna Tomlin has accepted another position and will be leaving the City of Murfreesboro. He thanked Ms. Tomlin for her two years of service with the City and congratulated her on the new position and opportunity. H-19-009 – 401 East Main Street – The applicant, Mark Green requested to remove and replace damaged porch columns. Ms. Tomlin reviewed the application and the Staff comments contained in the HZC agenda package. The applicant was not present to answer any questions. After much discussion between the Commission Members, it was determined the meeting could not continue without the applicant or representative for the agenda item. HZC Minutes July 16, 2019 Mr. Jakes made a motion to defer the request to remove and replace damaged porch columns until the applicant or representative can be present to answer questions. The motion was seconded by Ms. Anderson and carried unanimously in favor.
