Hunt Building Board of Trustee Meeting
February 5, 2013
Correspondence:
● Email from Mayor Lozeau informing us of the passing of Dick LaRose. Dick was a leader in many
restoration endeavors and operational policies for the Hunt Memorial Building. His guidance and knowledge
was highly valued and appreciated and he will be greatly missed.
●$200 donation received from the Nashaway Woman’s Club (Sheila Selfridge) and a thank you was sent.
●Letter from state addressed to Friends of the Hunt. It appeared to be an annual report. I contacted Mary
Slivinski who asked that I forward it to her residence.. She thought it may be the final paperwork for dissolve
of the 501 (c)(3). Mary said they had over $3,000 at this point and would be submitting a check(s) once
everything was closed.
●Email request from a MA College of Art & Design student asking to use the Hunt for the back-drop of a short
film for a class project. The student used the building at no charge 3 years ago while a student at NHSN.
Status of Renovations/Maintenance:
● The motion detector light at the handicapped ramp has been replaced.
●New toilet paper holders in the lower level ladies room and a new paper towel dispenser in the handicapped
restroom are being installed. (STILL PENDING)
●Clarion System has been returned to the Hunt, is wired and in the administrators office. Partial power has
been established but we are currently unable to get it fully functional. I have called the manufacturer and
connected them with Jay to resolve the issue. Everyone misses the chimes! (STILL PENDING)
●Heating system has shut down on a couple of occasions. It was determined that there is a faulty valve and will
be replaced. Jay Hunnewell is hopeful it will be covered by ALL Temp and no charge to the Hunt.
●Burst pipe in the unfinished section of the basement! Sadly I had just cleaned that whole area out and stored
the holiday decorations in that room. There are many things we have lost. An inventory will be done to see
what will need to be replaced. Cause and solution still pending.
Administrator’s Report:
●Stephen Harriman from Mr. Sandless® refinished our foyer hard-wood floors on Monday, January 28, 2013.
They came out beautifully. I will be putting a little blurb together for the website.
● I haven’t heard from anyone regarding the Friends of the Symphony 2013 House tour.
●Joy and I met with Aaron Doherty from White Rabbit Marketing. His presentation was not suitable for our
needs as written. Mayor Lozeau had a follow-up conversation with him as it was their initial conversation that
got the ball rolling. Joy and I will meet with him again, at his request, to hear a revised plan.
●Rebecca from GAD is putting together a proposal for joint wedding expo type of event.
●NHCF FY2014 grant deadlines have not been released. Web says to check back mid-February.
