MINUTES BOARD OF MAYOR AND BURGESSES SPECIAL MEETING JUNE 30, 2010 1. Mayor Robert Mezzo called the special meeting to order at 5:32 p.m. with the following in attendance: BURGESSES: RESIDENTS: None T. K. Rossi H. Kuczenski, absent R. Burns R. Neth PRESS: A. Campbell, absent P. Scully D. Deblasio M. Ciacciarella R. Woodfield, absent M. V. Fragoso, absent DEPARTMENT HEADS: OTHERS: None Attorney N.W. Hess III 2. Mayor Mezzo led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. 3. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Rossi and seconded by Burgess Burns that the Board of Mayor and Burgesses recess to Executive Session at 5:34 p.m. for discussion on the following: Contracts (Proposed interim agreement with the Town of Middlebury and/or Middlebury Water Pollution Control Board regarding sewage treatment plant usage.) inviting in Attorney N.W. Hess III. Mayor Mezzo reconvened the meeting at 5:54 p.m. 4. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Rossi and seconded by Burgess Scully that subject to WPCA approval, the Borough of Naugatuck agrees to accept the sum of $187,940. from Middlebury as payment for sewer treatment charges at the Naugatuck treatment plant for the fiscal years 2007 (partial year), 2008 and 2009. Said sum recognizes that Middlebury has previously paid the sum of $75,000. for said fiscal years. The motion herein is further conditioned upon Borough counsel finalizing a formula that is satisfactory to the Naugatuck WPCA that provides for payment from Middlebury to Naugatuck for future payments for a minimum of the next five fiscal years. 5. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Rossi and seconded by Burgess Scully to adjourn the meeting at 5:56 p.m. A tape recording of this meeting is available in the office of the Borough Clerk for further review.
