COMMISSION ON PUBLIC WORKS/UTILITIES COUNCIL ROOM NOVEMBER 28, 2017 6:45 P.M. The Commission on Public Works/Utilities met in regular session, Chair Quicker presiding. On roll call: all members present. The minutes of the previous meeting were declared approved. Director of Public Works Flynn reported on one burial at the Cemetery, equipment maintenance, mulching leaves, preparing snow removal equipment, draining the street sweeper water system, maintaining street lighting, working on decorative light pole bases, filling pot holes, finishing mowing road shoulders, ditches and landfill, work on the Emerald Ash Borer Tree Grant project is on hold for leaf pickup, leaf pickup is in progress, cleaning the sewer main project along O’Neill Creek to the old sewer plant is complete, waiting for steel to finish building the structure over the sludge storage tank pipes, winterizing the fire hydrants are completed, Christmas decorations are being installed and energized by Friday, cleaning up stump grindings and he has asked the City Attorney to review City Ordinance Section 5-3-4 Sewer User Rules and Regulations and we will talk about it at the next meeting, so everyone understands what we are working under. Motion Neville, second Mabie, that Water Bills Nos. 288 to 312 in the amount of $21,478.67 and Sewer Bills Nos. 209 to 233 in the amount of $68,047.93 be paid. All Aye. Roehl, Clerk ************ COMMON COUNCIL COUNCIL ROOM NOVEMBER 28, 2017 7:00 P.M. The Common Council met in regular session, Mayor Mabie presiding. On roll call: all members present. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. The minutes of the previous meeting were declared approved. Council Member Neville reported on the November 16, 2017 meeting of the Heritage Days Committee regarding: 1) introduction of Michelle Friemoth and Shannon Gaier as new members, 2) financial report, 3) discussed new events and chain saw carver, 4) discussed bands and sponsorships and 5) updates on Miss Neillsville events. Council Member Quicker reported on the November 28, 2017 meeting of the Commission on Public Works/Utilities regarding: 1) current activities and 2) payment of bills. Mayor Mabie declared all reports filed as presented with the City Clerk. City Clerk Roehl reported on receiving a $7,000 donation from the Listeman/Naedler Foundation for Schuster Park projects. Motion Counsell, second Clough, to accept and appropriate $7,000 to Account No. 57620 Parks Outlay and to thank the Listeman/Naedler Foundation for their donation. All Aye. Director of Public Works Flynn thanked the high school special education students for the Christmas lights decorating Schuster Park. Council Member Counsell stated that the 2018 Historic Preservation calendar-history lost are available at various businesses for a cost of $10 per calendar. Hotel/Motel Room Tax Permit Application: O’Neill Manor, LLC, Julie Counsell, Agent, 824 Hewett Street Motion Clough, second Glassbrenner, to grant the permit. Council Member Counsell abstained. All other members-Aye. Motion carried. Tavern Operator’s License Application: Marri C. Grace Motion Neville, second Quicker, to grant. All Aye. Motion Neville, second Quicker, that City Bills Nos. 1099 to 1139 in the amount of $937,091.07 and CDBG Housing Escrow Account Bill No. 27 in the amount of $30.00 be paid. All Aye.
