City of Nekoosa 951 Market Street Nekoosa, WI 54457 (715) 886-7877 (715) 886-7901 – Fax www.cityofnekoosa.org Joseph Rusch II, City Clerk Committee: Board of Review Date of Meeting: Wednesday, May 8, 2024 Location: Council Chambers Time: 5:00 p.m. (must be in session a minimum of 2 hours) Agenda: o Call Board of Review to order. o Roll Call o Confirmation of appropriate Board of Review and Open Meetings notices. o Select a Chairperson for Board of Review. o Select a Vice-Chairperson for Board of Review. o Verify that a member has met the mandatory training requirements. o Verify that the City has an ordinance for the confidentiality of income and expense information provided to the assessor under state law (sec. 70.47(7)(af). o Review of new laws. o Review current policy regarding the procedure for sworn telephone testimony and sworn written testimony. o Review current policy regarding the procedure for waiver of Board of Review hearing requests. o Filing and summary of Annual Assessment Report by Assessor's Office. o Receipt of the Assessment Roll by clerk from the Assessor o Receive the Assessment roll and sworn statements from the clerk o Review the Assessment Roll and Perform Statutory Duties: • Examine the roll, • Correct description or calculation errors, • Add omitted property, and • Eliminate double assessed property. o Discussion/Action — Certify all corrections of error under state law (sec. 70.43, Wis. Stats.). o Discussion/Action —Verify with the assessor that open book changes are included in the assessment roll.
