The Common Council will meet at the City of Nekoosa Office
Location & Address: Council Chambers, 951 Market St. Nekoosa, WI 54457
Time: Tuesday, May 13th, 2025, at 7:00 P.M.

The agenda is as follows:
1. Call to Order

3. Citizen Comment
During the Citizens Comment period of the agenda, the council welcomes comments from any city
resident on any item not on the agenda. Please know that pursuant to State law the council members
cannot engage in conversation with you but may ask questions. The council may refer the item to staff,
a standing committee, or a future meeting for discussion and possible action. Each person wishing to
speak will have up to 10 minutes to speak, unless more time is granted by the council. If you wish to
speak, we ask that you submit a card to the secretary or clerk providing your name, address, and topic
for discussion.
The council will also take comments from the public on agenda items as called for by the Mayor. Please
note that once the City of Nekoosa Common Council begins discussion on an agenda item no further
comment will be allowed from the public on that issue.
4. Approval of Previous Common Council Minutes – April 8th, 2025
5. Committee Reports
a. Property Recreation and Human Affairs
i. Recommend allowing Jami Williams to have a farmers market along Park St.
ii. Recommend allowing Culpepper & Merriweather circus to have a one-day event.
iii. Recommend Midwest Fest, June 21st, 2025 as in the past.
iv. Discussed rental policy on the Kautzer Park building.
v. Recommend Arbor Day proclamation, May 13th, 2025.
b. Public Works
i. Recommend approving Vierbicher to complete survey staking and inspection services for
the 2nd St. road construction project at a cost not to exceed $25,750.00.
ii. Recommend change order to replace storm sewer on 2nd. St. from Patton to Vilas Ave. at
a cost of approximately $15,000.00. This is in budget to be paid out of TIF 3.
iii. Discussion on an update to the Fishing Pier project at the Jim Freeman boat landing.
It is possible that the members of and possibly a quorum of members of other governmental bodies of the municipality
may be in attendance at the above-stated meeting to gather information; no action will be taken by any governmental
body at the above-stated meeting other than the City Common Council.
iv. Recommend approval of a 2nd driveway to the lot at 933 W. 3rd St.
v. Recommend hiring Lauren Exteriors for the replacement of the asphalt shingle roofs
under an insurance claim for the following Public Works buildings; Salt Storage Shed,
Waste Water (WW) Control Building, WW Degridder building, WW Chemical building,
Water Well #4 building, Water Filtration Plant building, Community Center, Community
Center Shed, and Community Center Sign Shed. At a price of $154,954.98 to be covered
100% by the insurance company.
vi. Discussion/update of the title search for the triangle property located immediately north
of the wastewater plant.

d. Discussion and possible action on Ordinance No. 633 – Regulating Speed Limits when children
are present.
e. Discussion and possible action on Ordinance No. 634 – Updating the B-2 District Zoning Code.
f. Discussion and possible action on Kautzer Building rental contract.
g. Discussion and possible action on Wood County Economic Development Funding Application.
h. Discussion and possible action on creating a fee schedule.
i. Discussion and possible action on approving the minutes of the CDBG Public Hearing for the
Fairview Lane grant application.
