The Common Council will meet at the City of Nekoosa Office
Location & Address: Council Chambers, 951 Market St. Nekoosa, WI 54457
Time: Tuesday, July 8th, 2025, at 7:00 P.M.

The agenda is as follows:
1. Call to Order

3. Citizen Comment
During the Citizens Comment period of the agenda, the council welcomes comments from any city
resident on any item not on the agenda. Please know that pursuant to State law the council members
cannot engage in conversation with you but may ask questions. The council may refer the item to staff,
a standing committee, or a future meeting for discussion and possible action. Each person wishing to
speak will have up to 10 minutes to speak, unless more time is granted by the council. If you wish to
speak, we ask that you submit a card to the secretary or clerk providing your name, address, and topic
for discussion.
The council will also take comments from the public on agenda items as called for by the Mayor. Please
note that once the City of Nekoosa Common Council begins discussion on an agenda item no further
comment will be allowed from the public on that issue.
4. Approval of Previous Common Council Minutes – June 10th, 2025, and June 24th, 2025
5. Committee Reports
a. Public Works
i. Recommend hiring ECON Electric to install a new corrosion-resistant heater and
exhaust fan in the wastewater discharge shed at a cost not exceeding $15,919.00.
ii. Recommend hiring Doorworks to replace the east 14’X14’ door at the municipal
building at a cost not exceeding $5,690.00.
iii. Recommend starting the bid process for the fishing pier project with a scheduled
completion in October.
b. Property Recreation and Human Affairs
i. Recommend allowing Pumpkin Fest to install a new hoist system at Riverside Park at
the entrance to shelter 1 subject to review by General Engineering.
ii. Discussed old swings and playsets in Riverside Park.
It is possible that the members of and possibly a quorum of members of other governmental bodies of the municipality
may be in attendance at the above-stated meeting to gather information; no action will be taken by any governmental
body at the above-stated meeting other than the City Common Council.
iii. Recommend Rick Schmidt, Dan Carlson and Mike Kumm review and purchase plaques
for Kautzer Park shelter building.
iv. Recommend 4 people attend training at Rural Water in Plover, August 28, 2025, as per
handbook.
c. Public Safety
i. Chief Woods discussed the monthly police department report.
ii. Chief Hartje discussed the monthly fire department report.
iii. Discussed any needed action on emergency preparedness after recent storms.
iv. Recommend police chief attending WI Police Chief’s summer conference in Green Bay,
August 10-13, 2025, as per handbook.
v. Recommend purchasing a new deck drawer system for the fire command truck for
approximately $1,200.00.
d. Ways & Means
i. Approval of License Applications
ii. Donations/Seminars/Conferences/Equipment/ Meetings
e. Planning Commission
i. Discussion and possible action on a conditional use permit at 509 South Section Street
by Clarity Care.
1.) Recommend approving the conditional use permit with the following conditions:
Annual fire inspection each year
2.) Copy of state licensing filed at city office
3.) Annual maintenance checkup of conditional use permits each year.
4.) No more than 4 members inhabit the home.
5.) Resubmit the conditional use permit after 3 years.
ii. Discussion on S.C. Swiderski residential development on Peckham Road.

a. Discussion and possible action on a presentation by Hawkins Ash CPA’s for the City of Nekoosa
2024 Audit.
