SPECIAL MINUTES OF THE NEW BRAUNFELS CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING OF WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 17, 2016 The City Council of the City of New Braunfels, Texas, convened in a Special Session on August 17, 2016, at 4:30 p.m. City Councilmembers present were: Present 7 - Mayor Barron Casteel, Councilmember George Green, Councilmember Justin Meadows, Councilmember Ron Reaves, Councilmember Chris Monceballez, Mayor Pro Tem Wayne Peters, and Councilmember Leah García City Staff present were: City Manager Robert Camareno, Assistant City Manager Kristi Aday, City Attorney Valeria Acevedo, City Secretary Patrick Aten, Parks and Recreation Director Stacey Dicke, Golf Manager Chad Donegan, Finance Director Martie Simpson, Assistant Finance Director Jared Werner, Airport Director Lenny Llerena, and Solid Waste Manager Mike Mundell. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Barron Casteel in the New Braunfels Municipal Building City Council Chambers at 4:31 p.m. 1. WORKSHOP A) Discuss and consider possible action regarding the Fiscal Year 2016-17 operating and capital budgets and the proposed 2016 tax rate, and announce public hearings. Mayor Casteel read the aforementioned caption. Robert Camareno presented the item. Judy Young presented information regarding the New Braunfels Convention and Visitors Bureau. Chad Donegan presented information regarding the Landa Park Golf Course at Comal Springs. Mike Mundell presented information regarding the Solid Waste Division. Wednesday, August 17, 2016 New Braunfels City Council Special Meeting  Lenny Llerena presented information regarding the New Braunfels Regional Airport. <City Council took a short break.> Stacey Dicke presented information regarding the New Braunfels Civic/Convention Center. Wayne Rudolph spoke regarding the Police and Fire Departments. No action was taken. Mayor Casteel announced the following: The FY 2016-17 Proposed Budget, along with the 2016 Tax Rate, will be adopted on September 12, 2016 at a meeting beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers located at 424 S. Castell Avenue, New Braunfels, Texas.
