REGULAR MEETING OF MONDAY, APRIL 17, 2023
AGENDA
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Brockman called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
CALL OF ROLL: CITY SECRETARY
Councilmember Hurta arrived at 5:02 p.m.
Present 7 - Mayor Rusty Brockman, Councilmember Andres Campos,
Councilmember Christopher Willis, Mayor Pro Tem Harry
Bowers, Councilmember Lawrence Spradley, Councilmember
Jason Hurta, and Councilmember James Blakey
INVOCATION: MAYOR BROCKMAN
Mayor Brockman provided the invocation.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE & SALUTE TO THE TEXAS FLAG
Mayor Brockman provided the Pledge of Allegiance and the Salute to
the Texas Flag.
1. WORKSHOP
A) Presentation of the Texas Municipal Library Director’s Association
Achievement of Excellence in Libraries Award.
Mayor Brockman read the aforementioned item.
Gretchen Pruett presented this item providing a PowerPoint which
detailed the criteria needed to receive this award and introduced her
co-workers and board members who were involved with receiving the
award. Gretchen answered questions from council.
B) Presentation and update on the New Braunfels National Airport.
Mayor Brockman read the aforementioned item.
Jeff Jewell presented this item providing a PowerPoint and answered
questions from council.
2. EXECUTIVE SESSION
Monday, April 17, 2023 New Braunfels City Council - Special Regular Meeting
In accordance with the Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Ch. 551, the
City Council may convene in a closed session to discuss any of the items listed
below. Any final action or vote on any executive session item will be taken in open
session.
A) Deliberate the purchase, exchange, lease or value of real estate in
accordance with Section 551.072 of the Texas Government Code,
specifically
· S. Krueger Avenue Properties
Mayor Brockman read the aforementioned executive session item.
Mayor Brockman recessed into executive session at 6:03 p.m.
3. RECONVENE INTO OPEN SESSION AND TAKE ANY NECESSARY
ACTION RELATING TO THE EXECUTIVE SESSION AS DESCRIBED
ABOVE.
Mayor Brockman reconvened into open session at 6:23 p.m.
No action taken at this time.
4. ADJOURNMENT
Mayor Brockman adjourned the meeting at 6:23 p.m.
