CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Linnartz called the meeting to order at 5:01 p.m.
CALL OF ROLL: CITY SECRETARY

Councilmember Mary Ann Labowski, Councilmember April

Councilmember Labowski provided the invocation.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE & SALUTE TO THE TEXAS FLAG
Mayor Linnartz led the Pledge of Allegiance and the Salute to the
Texas Flag.
1. WORKSHOP
A) Presentation and update on the New Braunfels Housing Authority.
Mayor Linnartz read the aforementioned item.
Henry Alvarez introduced this item providing a PowerPoint and
answered questions from council.
The following individual spoke at this time: Jim Holster
B) Presentation and possible direction to amend the City’s Code of
Ordinances to address the parking of oversized vehicles in the
right-of-way in residential areas
Mayor Linnartz read the aforementioned item.
Christopher Looney introduced this item providing a PowerPoint and
answered questions from council.
C) Presentation and discussion regarding the potential creation of a
Youth Advisory Council.
Mayor Linnartz read the aforementioned item.

Jared Werner introduced this item providing a PowerPoint and
introduced Stacey Dickie to provide additional information on the New
Braunfels Youth Collaborative, and the role of the Youth Advisory
Council. Jared and Stacey answered questions from council.
D) Presentation and update on proposed fee adjustments for Fire
Services and Civic Center rental fees.
Mayor Linnartz read the aforementioned item.
Sandy Paulos introduced this item providing a PowerPoint and
answered questions from council along with Robert Camareno.
The following individual spoke at this time: Jonathon Packard
E) Presentation and update on City of New Braunfels Capital Projects
and Initiatives.
Mayor Linnartz read the aforementioned item.
Scott McClelland introduced this item providing a PowerPoint and
answered questions from council.
F) Presentation and possible direction on the Dry Comal Creek Hike and
Bike Trail Segment 1 Project.
Mayor Linnartz read the aforementioned item.
Garry Ford introduced this item providing a PowerPoint and answered
questions from council.
The following individuals spoke at this time: Julie King and Jonathon
Alorda
G) Presentation on the proposed FY 2024 Street Maintenance Plan.
Mayor Linnartz read the aforementioned item.
Greg Malatek introduced this item providing a PowerPoint and
answered questions from council.
2. EXECUTIVE SESSION
Tuesday, January 16, 2024 New Braunfels City Council - Special Regular Meeting
In accordance with the Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Ch. 551, the
City Council may convene in a closed session to discuss any of the items listed on
this agenda. Any final action or vote on any executive session item will be taken in
open session.
There were no items taken in executive session.
3. RECONVENE INTO OPEN SESSION AND TAKE ANY NECESSARY
ACTION RELATING TO THE EXECUTIVE SESSION AS DESCRIBED
ABOVE.
4. ADJOURNMENT
