CITY OF NEW CARROLLTON MINUTES COUNCIL LEGISLATIVE MEETING WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 2022 The Council Legislative Meeting was held at 7:01 p.m., on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, as a virtual meeting. Attending were Chairperson Cynthia DB Mills; Councilmembers Sarah Potter- Robbins and Allyne Hooks, Mayor Phelecia Nembhard; City Administrative Officer Latasha Gatling; City Clerk Robinson Brown; Assistant City Administrative Officer Michael McMahon; Chief of Police David G. Rice; Information Technology Administrator Andrew Facey; and Administrative Assistant Araceli Guzman. Absent: Councilmembers Katrina R. Dodro and Briana Urbina. 1. CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Mills welcomed everyone and called the meeting to order. 2. MEETING MINUTES Councilmember Potter-Robbins moved that the following Council Meeting Minutes be approved: a.) Council Workshop/Council Legislative Meeting Minutes (January 5, 2022) b.) Council Workshop Meeting Minute (January 18, 2022) c.) Council Legislative Meeting Minutes (January 19, 2022) Councilmember Hooks seconded the motion. There was no discussion. Chairperson Mills called for the vote. The motion was approved (3-0-0). 3. COUNCIL QUESTIONS/COUNCIL ANNOUNCEMENTS Chairperson Mills asked if there are any questions or announcements. Councilmember Hooks stated she was unable to open the email with the list of proclamations. Ms. Gatling stated she will open it tomorrow and resend it to the Council. Councilmember Hooks asked for the list of references for the proposed audio/video vendor. Ms. Gatling stated that list was in the last agenda packet and that she called them and no one had any issues with the vendor. 4. ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA BY THE COUNCIL There were no additions to the agenda. 5. OLD BUSINESS None 6. NEW BUSINESS - APPROVAL OF AUDIO VISUAL ROOM UPGRADE CONTRACT Chairperson Mills asked Councilmember Hooks to read the motion to approve the Audio Visual Room Upgrade Contract. Councilmember Hooks made the motion to approve the Audio Visual Contract with Wiser AV in the amount not to exceed $58,680.00 and to MINUTES OF COUNCIL LEGISLATIVE MEETING FEBRUARY 16, 2022 2 | PAGE authorize the Mayor to sign the contract. Chairperson Mills asked for a second. There was no second and the motion failed. Chairperson Mills stated it will be brought back in March. 7. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, Councilmember Hooks moved to adjourn the Council Legislative Meeting of Wednesday, February 16, 2022. Councilmember Potter-Robins seconded the motion. The motion was approved (3-0-0).
