The emergency meeting was called to order by Mayor Gail Schmidt at 8:15 p.m.
Roll Call - All members present
New Business
1. A work session was held prior to this emergency meeting to discuss the
Administrator/Clerk/Treasurer position vacancy left by the resignation of Michelle Johnson on
March 12, 2022. Due to issues left in the city office, there was an urgency to fill that position
immediately. Anthony Martens, a candidate for Administrator/Clerk/Treasurer in 2021, was
offered the position.
• Motion to hire Anthony Martens for the Administrator/Clerk/Treasurer position at an annual
salary of $75,000, no health insurance or VEBA benefit and a vacation rate of 21 days/year
was made by Loren Skelton with a second by Jody Wynnemer. Carried (4 yes, 0 no)
2. Due to the above motion, the vacancy of Anthony Martens as Police Chief was discussed.
• Motion to appoint Patrolman Joshua Knudtson as Acting Chief of Police was made by Chad
Neitzel and seconded by Jason Casey. Carried (4 yes, 0 no)
Adjournment – Motion for adjournment made by Loren Skelton, 2nd Chad Neitzel. Carried (4 yes, 0 no)
