ARGUMENT ON THE MOTION TO DISMISS COMPLAINT FILED BY INTERIM CHIEF BELL AGAINST FIREFIGHTER JONATHON HAFFNER. 6. DELIBERATIONS ON THE MOTION TO DISMISS COMPLAINT FILED BY INTERIM CHIEF BELL AGAINST FIREFIGHTER JONATHON HAFFNER PLEASE TAKE NOTICE the Police and Fire Committee may, from time to time during this meeting/hearing entertain motion and convene in closed session for the purpose of deliberating on the motion to dismiss complaint filed by interim Chief Bell against Firefighter Jonathan Hafner or to consult legal counsel with regard to that matter pursuant to Section 19.85(1)(a) and (g) of the Wisconsin Statutes. Upon completion of any such deliberation of conference, the Police and Fire Commission may reconvene into open session to consider any other matters on the agenda as provided at 19.85 (2) Wis. Stats. 7. DECISION ON MOTION TO DISMISS OR ADJOURNMENT FOR FURTHER DELIBERATION 8. Police and Fire Commission Meeting Minutes Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 5:30 PM Council Chambers The Police and Fire Commission of the City of New Richmond was called to order on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at 5:30 PM, in the Council Chambers, with the following members present: PRESENT: Kirk Lindell, Jon Hailey, Andrea Kier, Michael Hedges, Jorden Aufderhar ABSENT: OTHERS Noah Wiedenfeld, Sarah Reese, Nick Vivian, Stacey Goodmanson PRESENT: CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Jon Hailey at 5:30 p.m. ROLL CALL ADOPTION OF AGENDA Andrea Kier made a motion to approve the Agenda. Jorden Aufderhar seconded the motion. Carried unanimously. APPROVAL OF MINUTES MINUTES FROM DATE MARCH 28, 2022 Jorden Aufderhar made a motion to approve Minutes from March 28, 2022. Andrea Kier seconded the motion. Carried unanimously. PRELIMINARY CONSIDERATION OF CHARGES AGAINST CHIEF JOSH BELL AND RELATED CORRESPONDENCE. Discussion regarding the jurisdiction of the PFC in the matter of the Charges Filed Against Interim Chief Bell. It was determined that the Charges and related letter(s) in their current form were not sufficient to act as the basis of a § 62.13(5) disciplinary hearing and should be addressed by the Mayor and Common Council. It was also decided to table the Charges until the Charging Party elects to amend or refile the Charges against the Interim Chief. SCHEDULING MEETING(S) OR OTHER ACTION ON THE COMPLAINT FILED AGAINST CHIEF JOSH BELL Police and Fire Commission Meeting April 12, 2022 Jon Hailey made a motion to table the Charges indefinitely unless and until the Charging Party elects to amend or refile the Charges against the Interim Chief. Andrea Kier seconded the motion. Carried unanimously. Kirk Lindell made a motion to forward the letters from the Concerned Firefights to the mayor. Andrea Kier seconded the motion. Carried unanimously. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 6:00 PM Andrea Kier made a motion to adjourn Jorden Aufderhar seconded the motion. Carried unanimously. Police and Fire Commission Meeting April 12, 2022 Police and Fire Commission Meeting Minutes Thursday, April 14, 2022 at 5:30 PM Council Chambers The Police and Fire Commission of the City of New Richmond was called to order on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at 5:30 PM, in the Council Chambers, with the following members present: PRESENT: Jon Hailey, Andrea Kier, Michael Hedges, Jorden Aufderhar ABSENT: Kirk Lindell OTHERS Stacey Goodmanson, Noah Wiedenfeld, Nick Vivian PRESENT: CALL TO ORDER Jon Hailey called the meeting to order at 5:31 p.m. ROLL CALL ADOPTION OF AGENDA Andrea Kier made a motion to Adopt the Agenda. Jorden Aufderhar seconded the motion. Carried unanimously. CLOSED SESSION PER STATE STATUTE 19.85 (1)(C) The Commission will convene into Closed Session as authorized under Section 19.85 (1)(c) Wisconsin Statutes, to consider employment, promotion, compensation, or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. FIRE OFFICER APPOINTMENT Jorden Aufderhar made a motion to go into Closed Session per State Statute 19.85(1)(c). Michael Hedges seconded the motion. Carried unanimously. OPEN SESSION - ACTION ON CLOSED SESSION AGENDA Jorden Aufderhar made a motion to go into Open Session. Andrea Kier seconded the motion. Carried unanimously. Police and Fire Commission Meeting April 14, 2022 Jorden Aufderhar made a motion to approve the appointment of the Fire Officer discussed in Closed Session. Michael Hedges seconded the motion. Carried unanimously. ADJOURNMENT Jorden Aufderhar made a motion to Adjourn. Michael Hedges seconded the motion. Carried unanimously.
