ADJOURNMENT Police and Fire Commission Meeting Minutes Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 5:00 PM Council Chambers The Police and Fire Commission of the City of New Richmond was called to order on Thursday, August 18, 2022, at 5:00 PM, in the Council Chambers, with the following members present: PRESENT: Kirk Lindell, Jon Hailey, Andrea Kier, Michael Hedges, Jorden Aufderhar ABSENT: OTHERS Noah Wiedenfeld, Sarah Reese, Joshua Bell, Stacey Goodmanson PRESENT: CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by President Hailey at 5:00 PM ROLL CALL ADOPTION OF AGENDA Jorden Aufderhar made a motion to adopt the agenda. Andrea Kier seconded the motion. Carried unanimously. APPROVAL OF MINUTES MINUTES FROM DATE MAY 31, 2022, JUNE 21, 222, AND JULY 5, 2022. Jorden Aufderhar made a motion to approve the minutes for June 21, 2022, June 27, 2022 and July 5, 2022. NOTE: The meeting on May 31, 2022 did not meet a quorum, therefore, no minutes were taken. Andrea Kier seconded the motion. Carried unanimously. COMMUNICATION AND MISCELLANEOUS HR Manager Sarah Reese discussed the patrol officer hiring process and invited PFC members to participate in interviews on September 1, 2022 if they would like. PFC Member, Jorden Aufderhar, thanked the NRPD for their strong presence at Funfest which made the attendees feel safe. FIRE DEPARTMENT PROBATIONARY FIREFIGHTER HIRING Kirk Lindell made a motion to go into closed session. The PFC went into Closed Session at 5:03. Jorden Aufderhar seconded the motion. Carried unanimously. OPEN SESSION - ACTION ON CLOSED SESSION AGENDA Jorden Aufderhar made a motion to come back into Open Session. Open Session resumed at 5:08. Andrea Kier seconded the motion. Carried unanimously. Kirk Lindell made a motion to move forward with hiring the two Probationary Firefights approved by Interim Chief Bell, Sarah Reese, and Noah Wiedenfeld discussed in Closed Session. Jorden Aufderhar seconded the motion. Carried unanimously. ADJOURNMENT Jorden Aufderhar made a motion to adjourn. The meeting was adjourned at 5:11 PM. Andrea Kier seconded the motion.
