WATER/WASTE-WATER – JARED MCFARLAND: Absent EMERGENCY SERVICES: NERS- Absent TRI COUNTY- Thursday January 14th is the next Tri-County meeting at 6pm. PARK/POOL: N/A LEGAL COUNSEL- BOB STEPHENSON: N/A MAYOR: 1. Had a conference with the EPA on the Simonds property on Monday. We spoke about the testing of Phase 2 and the plans we have for the lower area as well as the factory site. The supervisor who oversaw the removal of material from the lagoons and lower land was on the call. She actually said there should not be a need for extensive testing due to all the material that was removed from 1988-92. But there is one area at the southern end of the plant that has material that will need to be removed. Simonds is on the hook for any material removed. This will probably be Simonds last year of responsibility for the site. The EPA wants a few areas tested and monitored specifically before Simonds is released. The EPA was enthusiastic with the plans to utilize the sites. 2. The important part of this week is working with the county on Newcomerstown becoming a POD site for administering the COVID vaccine. We have applied to a survey requesting municipalities that are interested in being a site. The schools have volunteered the use of their facilities, in particular the new field house and parking lots. Mediwise and the police have joined in. We had a phone conference on Wednesday to start working out processes and details of what would be needed – materials and personnel. I had a conference call this morning with  the county Health Department and EMA to make sure we were proceeding in the right direction. We are way ahead of the curve, which is good because it provides more time to work out details. The County has said the biggest problem is getting the vaccine. The doses being sent to them is very low. We have a weekly conference call on Monday. 3. Monday’s meeting does not have much. We need to start a discussion about annexing some odd pieces of land. A problem arose at Boltaron because the factory is in the corporation but the parking lot is not. Our police were not able to answer a call from them about some vehicles being vandalized. The county sheriff had to be called. It was their jurisdiction. We will also discuss the bids that came in for the new administration building. Due to the lack of material for the meeting, I will try to present the annual State of the Village. OLD BUSINESS: Bids received for the Administration Building: S2F: $346,800, V2A: $414,447 APG: $775,000 NEW BUSINESS: Boltaron parking lot is out of corporation limit. Mayor suggests for committee to review and possibly annex the area. Will be tabled until committee reviews more.
