CITY OF NEWPORT, KY SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS JUNE 30, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. MINUTES CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL The meeting was called to order by Vice Mayor Peluso at 1: 30 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose room of the Newport Municipal Building at 998 Monmouth Street. COMMISSIONERS ORDER R-2021-031 AN ORDER OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT, KENTUCKY AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER THOMAS J. FROMME TO ENTER INTO AND EXECUTE A CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE AND MANAGEMENT AGREEMENT AND A PARKING GARAGE RAMP AGREEMENT AND PERMIT WITH CPX NEWPORT COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT, LLC REGARDING THE CENTRAL AVENUE DRIVE LANES AND RAMP AS PART OF THE OVATION PROJECT City Attorney Dan Braun gave an explanation of the agreement. Commissioner Fennell asked if Corporex would be responsible for maintaining the rights of way. Dan Braun replied yes, they would be responsible for the up keep. The Public Works Department will monitor the area to ensure it is maintained. Commissioner Rechtin stated this agreement does not negate the right of the other property owner. Dan Braun replied that is correct. Commissioner Rechtin made a motion to approve; second to the motion was offered by Commissioner Peluso. The Vice Mayor called for a vote; the motion carried unanimously, 4:0. Executive Session as allowable under KRS 61.810 (1) (f) concerning discussion which might lead to the appointment, discipline, or dismissal of an individual or employee. Commissioner Fennell made a motion for Executive Session; second to the motion was offered by Commissioner Rechtin. The Vice Mayor called for a vote; the motion carried unanimously, 4:0. ADJOURNMENT Commissioner Fennell made a motion to adjourn; second to the motion was offered by Commissioner Rechtin. The Vice Mayor called for a vote; the motion carried unanimously, 4:0.
