CITY OF NEWPORT, KY CAUCUS MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Monday, March 11, 2024 MINUTES Call to Order: A caucus meeting was called to order by Mayor Guidugli Jr. on March 11, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room of the Newport Municipal Building at 998 Monmouth Street. In attendance were: op y Commissioner Radwanski, Commissioner Smith-Morrow, Commissioner Rechtin, Mayor Guidugli Jr., Assistant City Manager John Hayden, City Attorney Daniel Braun, Police Chief Christopher Fangman, Fire Chief Frank Peluso, and City Clerk Tiffany Myers. Attended Via Zoom Vice Mayor Fennell. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS/PROPOSED LEGISLATION/CITY BUSINESS lC Bicycle Transportation Plan-presentation by Tristate Trails (See attached presentation). PUBLIC FORUM AND COMMENTS  Rachel Comte, board member for Tristate Trials, stated that Saratoga Street would be a good area for installing a temporary bike lane. ca  Jody Robinson, a member of the Devou Good Foundation, said KTYC was supposed to install a bicycle signal by the Purple People Bridge last year. We hired two engineering firms that disagreed on the Girls Scout Bridge's safety. We hope to have an update soon. ffi  Bob Yoder, 510 Monroe St., recommended that Newport start putting down bike sharrows on paths and hanging signs on bicycle routes.  City Manager Thomas Fromme stated that someone asked if we could do a traffic study on Fourth and O Fifth Streets. KTYC is conducting traffic studies on Monmouth and York Streets as well as Fourth and Fifth Streets. We are still waiting for the results. ADJOURNMENT With no further business to discuss, Mayor Guidugli Jr. adjourned the meeting.
