CITY OF NEWPORT, KY SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Tuesday, October 22, 2024 MINUTES Call to Order: Mayor Guidugli Jr. called a special meeting to order to meet in Executive Session on October 22, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room at 998 Monmouth Street, which was unanimously approved. In attendance were: Commissioner Radwanski, Commissioner Smith-Morrow, Commissioner Rechtin, Vice Mayor Fennell, Mayor Guidugli Jr, City Manager Thomas Fromme, and Human Resource Coordinator Terry Fornash. The Board of Commissioners met from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Executive Session per KRS 61.810 (F) regarding discussions or hearings which might lead to the appointment, discipline, or dismissal of an individual employee, member, or student without restricting that employee’s, member’s, or student’s right to a public hearing if requested. After discussion, it was recommended to be approved by future Orders that Assistant City Manager John Hayden be appointed to City Manager effective January 1, 2025, upon the retirement of City Manager Thomas Fromme, and that Planning and Development Director Brian Steffen be appointed to Assistant City Manager effective January 1, 2025. Adjournment: Thereafter, the Board moved to terminate the Executive Session, with no formal action being taken at that time, which was unanimously approved.
