NEWTON SPECIAL MEETING CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
JULY 24, 2026, 9:00 AM
Call to Order
1. Roll Call
The City Council of Newton, Iowa met in special session at 9:00 A.M. on the above
date in the Council Chambers at 101 West 4th Street South. Mayor Ervin
presided. Present Council Members: Mills, Roth, Dalton, Simbro (via cell
phone). Absent: Hallam, Holschuh.
Resolution
2. Resolution Approving Judicial Order Compliance and Authorizing Related Expenses
Moved by Mills, seconded by Roth to adopt the Resolution. Muckler indicated that this
would be paid from the equipment reserve fund to reduce bonding. AYES: Four. NAYS:
None. Resolution 2026-287 adopted.
Adjourn
Moved by Mills, seconded by Dalton to adjourn the meeting at 9:10 A.M. Motion unanimously
carried by voice vote.
