VILLAGE OF NICHOLS -- Public Budget Meeting November 08, 2022 Call to Order: by President Terry Scheller at 6:40 p.m. with Trustees Jerry Krull, Kathy Krull, and Tom Daniels present. Also present: Roger Ort, and Linda Hoes. 2023 Budget: The 2023 Proposed Budget was reviewed. Outagamie County Police Report: (no report) Minutes: Motion by Kathy/Jerry to approve the October 11th Board minutes, carried. Treasurer’s Report: Motion by Jerry/Tom to approve the October Treasurer’s Report and bank statements, carried. Bills to Approve: Motion by Kathy/Tom to approve payment of the bills and VISA charges, on Village checks #18755–18794 and four electronic withdrawals; and, Water Utility checks #2633-#2637, carried. Black Creek Police Report: (no report) Water & Sewer Report (Roger):  Plow Truck: The annual DOT Inspection was done on the plow truck.  Recycle Carts: Received the 10 bins added to the Village of Shiocton’s order.  Mower: Gear box was taken in for repair.  Street Sweeper: The fall street sweeping will be done on Monday, November 14th.  Insurance: Reviewed Roger’s 2023 insurance policy. Unfinished Business:  Star Communications: No response, tabled.  USDA Grant: Discussed progress of the project and furnishings received.   Corporate Network Solutions (CNS): Discussed progress, not finished.  ARPA: Tabled.  Security Cameras: Will check with Todd at CNS for suggestions, tabled.  Comprehensive Plan: Tabled  Storage Buildings & Containers: Decision to remove from the Agenda at this time. New Business:  Crime Coverage: Reviewed the policy required by USDA for reimbursement of payments made. The policy will cover all village employees.  VISA Credit Limit: Motion by Kathy/Jerry to increase the limit to $10,000, split as follows: Terry- $1,500, Roger- $1,500, and Linda- $7,000 for purchases to furnish the USDA addition project.  Old furniture/equipment: Discussed selling the old furnishings.  2023 Budget: Motion by Kathy/Jerry to approve the 2023 Budget total of $258,068 with a General Tax Levy of $48,583 and a mil rate of 5.55355, carried.
