CITY OF NORMAN, � .6� 0 w-� � � � AIM NORMAN COMPREHENSIVE PLAN STEERING COMMITTEE Development Center, 225 North Webster, Norman, OK 73069 Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 6:30 PM MINUTES It is the policy of the City of Norman that no person or groups of persons shall on the grounds of race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, age, place of birth, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, familial status, marital status, including marriage to a person of the same sex, disability, relation, or genetic information, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or otherwise subjected to discrimination in employment activities or in all programs, services, or activities administered by the City, its recipients, sub-recipients, and contractors. MINUTES 1. CONSIDERATION OF APPROVAL, REJECTION, AMENDMENT, AND/OR POSTPONEMENT OF THE MINUTES AS FOLLOWS: AIM NORMAN COMPREHENSIVE PLAN STEERING COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER 13, 2023. Motion by Mitch Biesmeyer to approve the minutes from the AIM Norman Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee Meeting of September 13, 2023; Second by Jim Adair. The motion was passed by a vote of 12-0 with 1 member abstaining. AIM NORMAN COMPREHENSIVE PLAN STEERING COMMITTEE -Wednesday, October 11, 2023P age 11 0 AGENDA ITEMS B 2. INTRODUCTIONS & MEETING PROTOCOLS • Steering Committee and Staff went around to introduce themselves. • Chair Elizabeth McKinney pointed out that Inger Giuffrida has been identified as the Vice-Chair. • Chair Elizabeth McKinney went over meeting protocols and ground rules. She stated the importance of making this the community's plan and vision. 3. UPDATE ON PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITES • Amy Haase, ROG, went over the process more in-depth and how public engagement fits. • Ms. Haase discussed the listening sessions and pop-up events conducted thus far and what kind of feedback has been received as well as what events are upcoming. 4. NORMAN TODAY OVERVIEW • Amy Haase went over population by gender, race/ethnicity, age, income, education, employment, housing, and housing affordability. • Lee Hall asked how do we factor in joining the SEC. How can we project student population growth? • Jim Adair asked if student housing was considered in the presented numbers. • Mary Elizabeth Mach, Garver, talked about transportation today as well as in the future. • Mary Elizabeth Mach also discussed the Water Master Plan and the Stormwater Master Plan. 5. CLOSING REMINDERS • Amy Haase notified the committee that they have added the Parks component. • Amy Haase asked for recommendations for listening sessions as well as locations for pop-up events.
