City of Norman Bicycle Advisory Committee Minutes for March 10, 2025, Meeting at 5:15 PM City of Norman Municipal Complex 225 North Webster Development Center Conference Room B The Bicycle Advisory Committee of the City of Norman, Cleveland County, State of Oklahoma, met in Regular Session in the City of Norman Development Center Conference Room B, on the 10th day of March, 2025, at 5:15 p.m., and notice of the agenda of the meeting were posted at the Municipal Building at 201 West Gray and on the City website at least 24 hours prior to the beginning of the meeting. • Roll Call of Members and Introduction of Visitors o Members present: Zimmerman, Murphy, Minty, Wimberly, Prather, Warren, and Cantwell o Members absent: Warren, Ahmadi,  Approval of February 11, Meeting Minutes • Motion to add an amendment to February 11 2025 Meeting Minutes to include the approval of the change of the meeting time of the Bicycle Advisory Committee from 6:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. proposed by Briggs. The motion to add the meeting time of 5:15 p.m. to the February 11 2025 Meeting Minutes approved unanimously. • Motion to approve the amended February 11 2025 Meeting Minutes proposed by Prather. Motion approved unanimously. BAC Member Updates – City of Norman Updates: o James Briggs, NPRD: Introduced Jeff Moody, Events Coordinator for Norman Parks and Recreation. All correspondence regarding Bike to Work Day and Bike to School Day will be sent to Moody. Moody will work with ACOG and was introduced to Sarah from TSET. Discussion included incorporating Kids to the Park Day with Bike to School Day. Bike to Work day is May 16, 2025. ACOG organizes three routes. A fourth route from Norman Tech might be added this year. Routes will be presented at the April 2025 BAC meeting. o David Riesland, Norman Transportation: Alameda bike lanes are complete from Porter Avenue to 36th Avenue. The bike path along Flood Avenue should be substantially complete by the end of March. o Thomas Zermeno, NPD: Zermeno is leading an e-bike school for Sapulpa P.D. and is participating in a multi-state instructor course for e-bike training at the end of the month. NPD is preparing for big Norman events such as the Medieval Fair and Norman Music Festival. o Current status of Cycle Norman Brochure + Map: James Briggs compiled all corrections and concerns onto one map. Briggs opened discussion for each item until all questions/concerns were discussed. The four-fold design will be pursued. The information on the back of the map will be sized to fit the folds of the four-fold. The TSET logo will be added. o Discussion of Norman AIM and importance of maps: Norman AIM is complete and will be added to the city’s 20-year comprehensive plan. The plan will be approved next month. The plan includes multi-modal paths, roadside bike lanes, and buffered bike lanes. o Discussion of plan and team to work towards City Bicycle Codes revisions: No discussion about the codes at this meeting. o Statement or Topics of Interest by Visitor(s) – Chip Minty introduced Aaron Dyer. Dyer is bringing (returning) a series of criterion races to Norman. The criterion will be May 31 -June 1.
