City of Norman Bicycle Advisory Committee Minutes for April 14, 2025, Meeting at 5:15 PM City of Norman Municipal Complex 225 North Webster Development Center Conference Room B The Bicycle Advisory Committee of the City of Norman, Cleveland County, State of Oklahoma, met in Regular Session in the City of Norman Development Center Conference Room B, on the 14th day of April, 2025, at 5:30 p.m., and notice of the agenda of the meeting were posted at the Municipal Building at 201 West Gray and on the City website at least 24 hours prior to the beginning of the meeting. • Roll Call of Members and Introduction of Visitors o Members present: Zimmerman, Murphy, Minty, Ahmadi, Prather, Wimberly, Warren, Cantwell o Members absent: None  Approval of March 10, Meeting Minutes. BAC Member Updates – City of Norman Updates: o James Briggs, NPRD • Jeff Moody is working on the Bike to Work Day efforts • Meeting tomorrow to discuss the Creekside Bike Park, bike ramps • Working on bike rack maintenance o Davie Riesland, Norman Transportation • Final inspection of Flood Ave path soon • ODOT HWY 9 bike path to bid to construction in August, construction to start by end of year • Next mile of HWY 9 path is currently under design • City is applying for the TSET "Legacy Grant" for two additional miles of the HWY 9 trail • This design will be contingent on the ODOT widening of HWY 9 (in 2027 or 2028) • A BUILD Grant application was submitted for 36th Avenue & Cedar Lane intersection o Thomas Zermeno, NPD • Thomas is currently planning to submit Norman as a host for the 2027 IMPBA Conference • "International Police Mountain Bike Association" • Medieval Fair went well • Planning and preparing for Norman Music Festival • Bicycle police training is ongoing, a new group is starting soon • BAC reviewed update to the map/brochure and provided comments to James o Status of Cycle Norman Brochure + Map • James mentioned that the document is still in the works; George was asked to send bike registration information o Norman AIM Transportation Committee Comprehensive Transportation Plan update o May - Ride Your Bike-to-Work Day planning • Chip volunteered to do the route that Briann has covered in the past few years; Aysha mentioned some corrections that need to be made to the BtW map. o Bike Counts planning • April 19 from 10 – noon and April 22 from 5 – 7 pm; Paul, Briann, and Chip volunteered to participate. o Maverick Criterium update • May 31 – June 1, 2025 in Norman o Discussion of plan and team to work towards City Bicycle Codes revisions • Thomas will send the current code language; David mentioned City Legal has asked to be a part of those conversations. o Statement or Topics of Interest by Visitor(s) – • The BAC was introduced to Chip’s daughter. o New Business/Open discussion May12, 2025 – Next BAC Meeting Adjournment  Motion made by Wimberly; seconded by Murphy; passes by unanimous consent.
