City of Norman Bicycle Advisory Committee Minutes for June 9, 2025, Meeting at 5:15 PM City of Norman Municipal Complex 225 North Webster Development Center Conference Room B The Bicycle Advisory Committee of the City of Norman, Cleveland County, State of Oklahoma, met in Regular Session in the City of Norman Development Center Conference Room B, on the 9th day of June, 2025, at 5:20 p.m., and notice of the agenda of the meeting were posted at the Municipal Building at 201 West Gray and on the City website at least 24 hours prior to the beginning of the meeting. • Roll Call of Members and Introduction of Visitors o Members present: Ahmadi, Minty, Prather, Warren, Zimmerman, Cantwell o Members absent: Murphy, Wimberly ▪ Approval of May 12, Meeting Minutes • Motion to approve made by Warren, seconded by Minty; motion passed unanimously. BAC Member Updates – City of Norman Updates: o James Briggs, NPRD • Workday at Creekside Park will be June 22; all are welcome to attend • Skate park work will take place on June 28 o David Riesland, Norman Transportation o Thomas Zermeno, NPD • Recently voted as vice president of International Police Mountain Bike Association (IPMBA) • New officer training in September • Supporting Juneteenth celebrations o Status of Cycle Norman Brochure + Map • No updates o Update - Ride Your Bike to Work Day planning and Bike Month Proclamation • City proclamation made by Mayor • Sparsely attended; will plan to assess; Jeff Moody will be taking on the Bike to Work Day event. o Maverick Criterium update • Minty reported that it was a great event; planned and executed well. • Disappointed in turnout • May be an annual event in the future o Discussion of plan and team to work towards City Bicycle Codes revisions • Will wait on the final approval of the City of Norman AIM process o Statement or Topics of Interest by Visitor(s) – • Minty brought up the issue of bollards and multi modal paths and asked for this to be on a future agenda. • Minty brought up the issue of signage at Cedar Lane and HW77; the topic of “bike box” was also brought up. o New Business/Open discussion July 14, 2025 – Next BAC Meeting Adjournment Motion to adjourn made by Zimmerman, seconded by Warren; motion passed unanimously
