City of Norman Bicycle Advisory Committee Minutes for March 9, 2026, Meeting at 5:15 PM The Bicycle Advisory Committee of the City of Norman, Cleveland County, State of Oklahoma, met in Regular Session in the City of Norman Development Center Conference Room B, on the 9th day of March, th 2026, at 5:17 p.m., and notice of the agenda of the meeting were posted at the Municipal Building at 201 West Gray and on the City website at least 24 hours prior to the beginning of the meeting. • Roll Call of Members and Visitor introductions. o Members present: Zimmerman, Minty, Peppler, Ahmadi, Cantwell, Prather, Wimberly. o Members absent: Lanphere o Approval of February 9 Meeting Minutes • Motion made at 6 pm by Peppler; seconded by Zimmerman; motion passed unanimously BAC Member Updates – City of Norman Updates: o Jeannie Snider, City of Norman - Reported on status of code revisions; provided information on other updates that will need to be made to be consistent; Will try to send a packet before the next meeting for the BAC to review. o David Riesland, Norman Transportation - Pre-construction meeting regarding area between 48th and Blue Creek Drive on Hw9 will take place by end of this month; construction will start 6 weeks after that, Blue Creek to 72nd qualifies for funding but being put on hold; Mile between 72nd and 84th on Hw9 have 90% plans from consultants so it can ready for letting. o Thomas Zermeno, NPD - Down 5 officers, hoping to more before the summer season; working to improve safety on Campus Corner; Service calls for Campus Corner have increased 50%. o James Briggs, City of Norman - Given by Hal with some sarcasm but the committee was grateful. o Status of Cycle Norman Brochure + Map o May is Bicycle Month – Ride Your Bike to Work Day – Map/Routes • BAC members were asked to volunteer to lead groups o Discussion of Codes review • See above update from Jeannie Snider o Statement or Topics of Interest by Visitor(s) – • The BAC was grateful to be visited by the OU Daily o New Business/Open discussion April 13, 2026 – Next BAC Meeting Adjournment - Motion to adjourn made by Ahmadi, seconded by Zimmerman, motion passed unanimously.
