Bike Skills Park subcommittee (Tom/all) B. Revision of CTP to incorporate revised to include new cycling routes / signage (Gary/all) 2016-2017 Spreadsheet review of potential facilities to add to the CTP • Question was asked: ACOG and City of Norman criteria don’t perfectly match; City of Norman set a threshold but ACOG doesn’t have specific range/threshold in some cases. • Process: After this committee prepares recommendation goes to Transportation Committee (in progress of being appointed/reappointed) th 1. Remove from spreadsheet the draft recommendation: Robinson (Berry to 24 )  not recommended to have “Add Share the Road” signs, use of Legacy Trail better. th 2. 24 (Robinson to Rock Creek )  Share the Road  this may be a temporary sign th th 3. Rock Creek (24 – 36 )  Share the Road sign  this may be in conflict with having a multi- use path on that facility next to it. Communication to general public may be a problem. Traffic volumes currently are not extensive now but new development may occur. There are many unknowns with this section and concern about cyclists that need to use the road to cross. Next Step: Map the spreadsheet with City of Norman GIS system to review at next meeting and continue discussion. C. Bicycle Friendly Re-Application (James + all) Notes to help the application: Various question follow-up: Single-track  Thunderbird, 27 miles is the estimate Mountain bike park  bicycle accessible skate park, none Velodrome  none Cyclist training facility  spin classes Amenities: • Wood structures at Thunderbird improved  Team Warmup, BLN  need photos of the repair • Bike skills park in planning process • Multiuse path on Hwy 9 • Saxon miles on unpaved shared use path • Public and private bike racks  bike parking map (Ian parking map) • Bicycle counts regular  • Bicycle education regularly  does anyone have any info on regular education – Section C (Michelle will look into this a bit) • Safety Town – yes • Norman High Tri-Team  50% or 100%? Bonus Point question: • Bike to Work Day • Promotion of bicycle/bicycle safety  • Car-Free Day – Dump the Pump Day • Tye Dye (triathalon) • Special rides, new rider rides • Ribbon cutting for special facilities • Council or Mayor led rides – bike to school, bike to work Bicycle valet  at Buchanan event Fat Tire Family Festival Health benefits with bike  Norman Regional Women and families with toddlers D.
