City of Norman Bicycle Advisory Committee Minutes for August 14, 2017 Meeting, 6:15 PM City of Norman Municipal Complex 201 West Gray, Executive Conference Room (1) Roll Call and Introduction of Visitors Michelle Carr, Lee Krumholz, Thomas Woodfin, Meghan Wieters, Sunni Bailey- Koszarek, Gordon Carrie, Kyle Williams, Kim Floyd, Hal Cantwell (2) Approval of July Meeting Minutes Motion by: G. Carrie 2nd: L. Krumholz Passed Unanimously (3) Agenda A. Review draft print of 2017 Norman Bike Map (James) Improvements to the map (options) will be brought to Sept. meeting. BAC members should look into options for improving the back side of the map. • Mark-up old map and send to James Briggs as suggestions B. Discussion of new Bike Skills Park design process Design process -- > Subcommittee should bring draft goals (# of workshops/participatory meetings, skill levels for the park, universal design options, etc) to Sept BAC meeting. C. Consideration of goals for 2017-2018 1. Bike Skills Park process (Kyle) – discussed above 2. Education outreach efforts (Sunni) – no update 3. Advocacy engagement at Municipal/Regional/State levels (Tom) – next month’s BAC discuss potentially setting up a Google calendar to encourage BAC members to attend and make our presence known to City Council, other Boards. D. Status reports: 1. CART Updates – (Taylor Johnson ) - no update / not present 2. Enforcement (OFC Smallwood) – no update / not present 3. City of Norman Updates (Angelo, James) – status for Bike Map update Final plans submitted to ODOT for three important bike components. Bidding later this year, construction is anticipated to begin early 2018: 1) 12th Ave SE Widening (Oak Tree to Cedar Lane) - bike lane connections to existing bike lane on Oak Tree and Cedar Lane Rd.  2) State Hwy Multimodal Path (24thSE – 36th SE Ave) Phase I – first mile of Hwy 9 with 10-foot concrete surface on northside of road. 3) Pavement markings – a) Road diet Rock Creek (48thNW – Grandview Ave) 4- land to 3-lane with bike lanes b) Main St (48th NW – Cherry Creek Dr) similar treatments RFP is being drafted for the two selected TAP projects (YAY!!!) 1) Constitution and 2) Hwy 9 (Phase II) (36th SE – 48th SE) E. • OU Campus / Bikeshare (Kyle) o Bikeshare update- continuous usage all summer; very successful F. Upcoming meetings / topics of interest to cycling in Norman Parks meeting – Thurs. Sept 7th  will be discussing Reeves Park plan and it does contain bike paths.
