City of Norman Bicycle Advisory Committee Agenda for August 13, 2018 Meeting, 6:15 PM City of Norman Municipal Complex 201 West Gray, Multi-purpose Conference Room (1) Roll Call and Introduction of Visitors Carr, Krumholz, Cantwell, Woodfin, Wieters, Carrie, Williams and Southern present (2) Approval of July Meeting Minutes & New Business for September agenda Unanimously approved with one typo (ranks should have been racks, bike racks) (3) Agenda A. Review homework routes by members to promote cycling in Norman (Wieters) Committee members added various routes to main maps. This will be an on-going activity to work on to promote cycling in Norman. B. Discussion on next steps for Bikeshare in Norman (e.g. task force, new ad hoc committee) (Woodfin) In process of creating an ad hoc task force; recommendation to have 2 BAC representatives, 2 University bikeshare representatives, 1 from Chamber of Commerce, 1 Visitors’ Bureau, 1 Norman Arts Council, City Staff: Sarah Caplan and Angelo Lombardo Nominations for Kyle Williams and Tom Woodfin to be on the ad hoc committee that is emerging. This will be a recommendation to Council. Council will make final decision on committee members. Intention is to address branding the new system and financing options. C. Norman Bike Skills Park status: scheduling next public meeting? (Briggs) New layout shared regarding the paths for comment Comments: include a space where restrooms might go (even if a port-a-potty), reserve space for benches near bike park area for parents. Next public meeting with consultant ideally will be in late September. D. Legacy Trail Eco-counter disposition ODOT is spec-in counters for many upcoming projects. Existing EcoCounters do not have battery power and the software has run out. Bids that Meghan received for the battery and for a tube system were given to Angelo Lombardo. E. City of Norman Updates: • James Briggs PARD – new round of bike rack proposals is coming soon • Angelo Lombardo Transportation – Road diet projects still waiting on glass bead (green) BAC should start reviewing the CTP and considering recommendations for next priority projects to be considered in transportation-related bond package • Teddy Wilson Norman PD Campus corner is going to be handled with new liquor laws differently (game days) 10 bicycle officers slated for game days where possible • CART Bikes on buses: 526 for July (1.5% of total ridership)  F.
