Agenda
BAC Member Updates – New member introductions.
PD summary. Trying to keep area well policed. City works with OU PD for registering bikes.
City of Norman Updates:
One project under construction. Constitution path is 2/3 complete. Final inspection is in Jan/Feb 23.
Next two miles of path west of Tecumseh, Sept 23. Will complete the loop around Westheimer.
Phase 2 of James Garner. Will go to construction Jan 23. Includes multimodal path north from
library and then tie back into flood.
Transportation alternative grants from ODOT. Multimodal path on Highway 9 has been submitted as
an application for funding to ODOT for 48-60th and 60th to 72nd.
Bike lanes on University run from Apache to Boyd.
Will submit the bicycle friendly community application again next year.
Hal presented the lanes discussion to the CPTC community planning and transportation committee.
Art of the intersection. Hal mentioned it to the Planning and Transportation committee. They
seemed interested. He mentioned that the BAC will be working on this.
City bike map is now hard to find on web. Web page needs to be better and more accessible and have
the map available.
Nathan mentioned that most of the artwork that has been studied also includes some physical changes
to the intersection. We want to avoid confusion. Michael also mentioned that sometimes the illusion
gives the impression that road narrows that may slow people down.
Next meeting will be Dec. 12. 2022.
