City of Norman Bicycle Advisory Committee Minutes for Dec. 12, 2022, Meeting at 6:15 PM City of Norman Municipal Complex 201 West Gray, Executive Conference Room ● Roll Call of Members and Introduction of Visitors o Members present: Hal Cantwell- Chair Lee Krumholz-Recreational and commuter. BikeOklahoma. Sarah Shanks – VP of BLN Nathan Barron Michael Dick George Ahmadi Briann Zimmermann o Ex-Officio members present: David Riesland, James Briggs, Thomas Zermeno Agenda Minutes. Strike OU from Nathan’s name. Minutes from Nov. approved on 6:22. as amended at 6:22. City of Norman Updates: Reaves park reopened. Mostly finished. Trail is being built. Committee is being put together for Saxon park design. Talking about putting in a pump track at Creekside bike park or perhaps Saxon. Constitution path will be completed late Jan. Railroad will be last thing. Flood ave. path will be let this summer. Robinson to Tecumseh and then left to 24th. Will complete the loop around Westheimer. Transportation alternative grants from ODOT. Multimodal path on Highway 9 has been submitted as an application for funding to ODOT for 48-60th and 60th to 72nd. Should hear next month. Hal presented the lanes discussion to the CPTC community planning and transportation committee couple of months ago. The next step is a study section. Kristin will be talking to Mitchell about the bike map after the holidays. PD summary. PD got approved to spend $10,000 for ebikes. Will be able to purchase 6 ebikes from Binelli. Will be able to do numerous types of new projects. Extra patrols in shopping centers for holiday season. Trainees finishing up training and will be ready to go by years end. New police officers coming in. Bicycle Registration. Thomas has bicycle tags. Passed them around. Ebikes are now allowed on EMBARK buses. Some restrictions including weight of 55 lb limit. Next meeting will be Jan 9, 2023. ● Adjournment Meeting was adjourned at 7:05.
