City of Norman Bicycle Advisory Committee Minutes for Feb 13, 2023, Meeting at 6:15 PM City of Norman Municipal Complex 201 West Gray, Executive Conference Room ● Roll Call of Members and Introduction of Visitors o Members present: Hal Cantwell- Chair Lee Krumholz-Recreational and commuter. BikeOklahoma. Nathan Barron Michael Dick George Ahmadi Briann Zimmermann o Ex-Officio members present: David Riesland, James Briggs, Thomas Zermeno Agenda Minutes. Strike OU from Nathan’s name. Minutes from Dec. 12 and Jan 9. 23. Motion to change agenda to minutes on Jan minutes passed at 6:23. Jan and Dec. min approved on 6:24-6:25. Member updates: None. Question about bicycle friendly status and discussion of encouraging businesses to become bicycle friendly. George Recommends engaging the Norman Chamber of Commerce. City of Norman Updates: Reaves Park reopened. Griffin Park work in final phase. Trails being built in Vintage Creek Edition. Near Tecumseh and Porter. Recreation center classes and bike club is something to be considered to enhance cycling oppurtunities for youth in Norman. Constitution Avenue should be done in near future except railroad tracks crossing.RR is getting some materials now so it will likely be done in April. Part of path will have to be redone because of a drainage issue. New Multimodal Paths projects decision will be available in April. Multimodal path on Highway 9 has been submitted as an application for funding to ODOT for 48-60th and 60th to 72nd. PD summary. Three new people just graduated on Thursday. The rest of the e-bikes have been purchased for a total of 6. Officers have been trained in basic maintenance. Hal has come up with some assignments for subgroups. Website -- George, James, Hal, Briann Bike counts -- Stephen Art at the Intersection. Lee, Nathan, Hal, David, James, Michael Next meeting will be March 13, 2023. ● Adjournment Meeting was adjourned at 7:10.
