Community Development Block Grant Policy Committee Public Meeting

CITY OF NORMAN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM CDBG PUBLIC Hearing The CDBG Neighborhood Meeting of the City of Norman, Cleveland County, State of Oklahoma, met for the Neighborhood Meeting on December 4, 2019, at 6:00 p.m. Notice and Agenda of the meeting were posted at the Norman Municipal Building and at www.Normanok.gov twenty-four hours prior to the beginning of the meeting. Lisa Krieg, CDBG Grant Manager called the meeting to order at 6:01pm. Item No. 1, being: Introductions. City Staff in attendance: Lisa Krieg Tara Reynolds Item No. 2, being: Update on the City of Norman CDBG and HOME Programs • The tree planting project will focus on the Original Townsite neighborhood this year. • CDBG is partnering with Habitat for Humanity to build accessible ramps. • HOME, with the CHDO, purchased several lots upon which houses will be built for more affordable housing options. Item No. 3 being: Discussion of the Issues Facing Low and Moderate Income Households in Norman • Transportation, specifically to medical appointments. • The need for affordable housing. • The need for evening day care past 6pm for working families. • Mental health issues, and the possibilities of the Porter campus. • Homelessness and the city’s efforts, including the warming shelter and the need for a permanent day shelter. • The need for more code enforcement officers. • A discussion about streets, sidewalks, and the need for a covered bus stop at Rose Rock. Item No. 4 being: 4. Election of at-large CDBG Policy Committee Reps • An email will be sent out to all attendees with more information.
