CITY OF NORMAN, OK ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL ADVISORY BOARD MEETING Development Center, Conference Room B, 225 N. Webster Avenue, Norman, OK 73069 Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 5:30 PM MINUTES The Environmental Control Advisory Board of the City of Norman, Cleveland County, State of Oklahoma, will meet in Regular Session in the Utilities Conference Room at the Development Center, on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 5:30 PM and notice of the agenda of the meeting was posted at the Norman Municipal Building at 201 West Gray, Development center at 225 N. Webster, and on the City website at least 24 hours prior to the beginning of the meeting. ROLL CALL 1. PRESENT Board member Deborah Cretsinger Board member Inger Giuffrida Board member Lainey Phillips Board member Bob Nairn Board member Sara Bondy Board member Debbie Smith Board Member Eileen Grzybowski Board Member Todd Howery ABSENT Board member Nathalie Rocher INTRODUCE NEW MEMBERS, GUESTS & STAFF Staff Jerry Gates, Environmental Services Assistant Manager Michele Loudenback, Environmental & Sustainability Manager Specialist ANNOUNCEMENTS The litter crew project with the wrap around services has pivoted from using the general funds to using the opioid use disorder funds and should be moving forward soon. MINUTES 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES FOR THE DECEMBER 18, 2024 MEETING Motion made by Board member Cretsinger, Seconded by Board member Bondy. DISCUSSION OF SPRING ACTIVITIES AS PART OF GREEN NORMAN ECO- BRATION Discussed various potential events coming up. The area near the Mont was nominated as a potential area for work. Staff will research the possibility. ACTION ITEMS 4. DISCUSSION AND/OR APPROVAL OF THE DISPLAY OF THE WATERS WORTH IT POSTER SUBMISSIONS DURING THE 2ND FRIDAY ART WALK IN APRIL TO ESTABLISH PEOPLE'S CHOICE RECOGNITION Philips is waiting to hear back from someone to see if they can accommodate the posters on Main Street but she thinks they might be able to make it work. They will reach out to Philips after she has her staff meeting. The lady informed Philips that if her space cannot accommodate them, she will personally help them find space for it. Rocher and Loudenback also reached out to someone and they are also waiting to hear back from them as well. Item will be tabled pending confirmation 5. DISCUSSION AND/OR APPROVAL FOR SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES TO OUR NORMAN EDUCATORS TO ATTEND UPCOMING EVENTS Loudenback explained to the board that there are trainings coming up for educators that she would like the board to help pay for. She has not heard back yet but will get them numbers for the next meeting. She feels this is a good way to get more of our educators involved. Item will be tabled due to lack of information at this time. 6. DISCUSSION AND/OR APPROVAL OF DISTRIBUTION AND/OR ALLOCATIONS FOR THE FY 26 BUDGET Loudenback supplied the group with the options. Item will be tabled so the group can look over the items and discuss it further at the next meeting. MISCELLANEOUS COMMENTS Todd asked where all the events will be advertised. Loudenback explained that it will be on the website, greennorman.org, as well as sent out via social media as well as newspaper ads and utility inserts.
