CITY OF NORMAN, OK HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION MEETING Municipal Building, Executive Conference Room 201 West Gray Street, Norman, OK 73069 Monday, May 23, 2022 at 5:30 PM MINUTES The Human Rights Commission of the City of Norman, Cleveland County, State of Oklahoma, met in the Municipal Complex located at 201 West Gray Street on May 23, 2022, at 5:30 p.m., and notice and agenda of the meeting were duly posted 24 hours prior to the beginning of the meeting. PRESENT Commission Chair Christina Owen Commissioner Chris Nanny Commissioner Ellen Kraft ABSENT Commission Vice-Chair Marjaneh Seirafi-Pour Commissioner Jackie Farley Commissioner Samuel Woodfork Commissioner Michael Kihega STAFF PRESENT Chief Diversity and Equity Officer Cinthya Allen Assistant City Attorney Anthony Purinton Legal Admin Tech Sarah Encinias ROLL CALL A quorum was not present. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES FOR THE APRIL 22, 2022, REGULAR MEETING Item was not voted on due to lack of quorum. AGENDA ITEMS 2. DISCUSSION REGARDING NORMAN PARKS & RECREATION CHILD CARE SERVICES Item was not discussed due to lack of quorum. HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION MEETING - Monday, May 23, 2022 Page |1 MISCELLANEOUS COMMENTS Chair Owen discussed reviewing the City website for accessibility improvements as a work item from the Inclusive Community Subcommittee. Ms. Allen said applications for membership on the recently formed Diversity Roundtable have been received and she should now have enough to start the group. Lastly, Chair Owen held group discussion regarding the City’s status of finding a new location for the warming shelter.
