Board of Directors Meeting Wednesday, November 15, 2017 Legend’s Restaurant 1313 W. Laffoon moves to approve, Dillingham seconds, the motion passes unanimously. Finance Report Haws goes over the financials from September and October. Highlights include good cash position and differences in standing or spending, such as in consumer marketing in October can be explained by timing of payments. Dillingham moves to approve as presented, Laffoon seconds. Motion passes with no objections. Northpark Update Amsler starts discussion which includes the statement of support that had been proposed to be released by the VisitNorman Board. Amsler agrees that city council needs to see support for expo regardless of location. Dillingham states that it is wise to provide support for the project with out supporting any particular funding mechanism. Laffoon moves to release the support letter pending changes made by Amsler, Dillingham seconds. Motion passes with no objections. TMD/Sports Commission Schemm states that the last he had heard was that Tulsa had gotten all hotels lined up and were looking at first quarter of 2018 to get TMD up and Running. Norman forward has been delayed due to land acquisition, we need this to happen before we can start selling/using facilities. Norman Forward Update Terry Floyd and Jud Foster present an update to the Norman Forward Projects. Land has been broken on the Norman Public Library East project, which is a 12,000-square foot project. Pioneer Library system is also making a huge investment in these projects. The central library is well underway. West Wood Aquatic Center’s pool will open summer of 2018. All neighborhood parks will get updates, a cycle with some projects being undertaken every year. As for the sports field must move baseball/softball first before we can begin on soccer. Lease negotiation moving along well near YMCA. Air B-N-B Schemm reports that Air B-n-B has responded to request stating that a lot of communities have reached out to them and they will be in touch. 5 Year Strategic Planning Session Schemm states that he plans on doing this in January. The session will consist of a short meeting and then ½ day planning session. He is still looking for a facilitator, and will send out a doodle poll as it get closer. Staff reports were foregone due to the special update presentation Dillingham moves, Maag 2nds. Adjourned at 1:05 PM
