NORMAN REGIONAL HOSPITAL AUTHORITY Board Study Session February 10, 2024 MINUTES The Norman Regional Hospital Authority met in a Board Study Session, Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 8:00am in the Conference Rooms at Norman Regional Moore. The meeting notification was posted on the NRHS and Norman/City Websites and at the entrance of Norman Regional Hospital on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. Members Present: Doug Cubberley, Chairman Joan Greenleaf Jerome (Jerry) Weber, Ph.D. Mary Womack James Chappell Dr. Muhammad Anwar Dr. Dianne Chambers Paula Roberts Members Absent: Kevin Pipes Others Present: Richie Splitt, President and CEO John Manfredo, VP & Chief Operations Officer Rick Wagner, VP & Chief Financial Officer Dr. Aaron Boyd, VP & Chief Physician Officer Elaine Purvis, VP & Chief Strategy Officer Brittni McGill, VP & Chief Nursing Officer Keith Minnis, VP & Chief People Officer Recorder: Claudia Todd, Executive Assistant I. Call to Order Mr. Cubberley called to order the February 10, 2024 Board Study Session at 8:00am. Mr. Splitt thanked everyone for coming to the board advance. II. From Crisis to Catalyst: Key Focus Areas for Healthcare: A 2024 Overview Mr. Splitt explored transformative trends and key initiatives expected in the healthcare industry for 2024, and highlighted the importance of how these challenges can become catalysts for change at NRHS. The focus for NRHS is to turn these challenges into opportunities for positive change. Topics included:  The healthcare landscape NRHA Board Study Session Minutes 2 February 18, 2023  Patient care in alternative settings  Overcoming workforce shortages  Payor/insurance trends  Consumerism  Impact of Artificial Intelligence Ms. Purvis presented an overview of recent market data and feedback from stakeholders. The analysis focused on identifying potential opportunities for outreach within specific demographics, leveraging diverse social media platforms and other avenues. III. Break IV. Inspire Health: Transforming Today, Envisioning Tomorrow During the session, Mr. Manfredo shared insights into Clinical Quality, discussing various preventative measures implements to ensure the health and well-being of our patients, guests, and healers. An overview of the Clinical Data Base (CDB0 was presented, emphasizing its role in transparent benchmarking for continuous improvement in care quality. NRHS’s commitment to becoming a High Reliability Organization aligned with CMS Star Ratings values was underscored. Ms. McGill focused on clinical initiatives dedicated to achieving optimal patient care and consistently delivering a sage and high-quality experience. Ms. Purvis outlines key objectives for patient care, highlighting the utilization of net promoter scores for service recovery and identifying areas for improvement. Mr. Minnis covered initiatives related to recruitment and retention aimed at fostering a healthier and more robust work culture. Ms. McGill shared the process of reviewing hiring needs and retention efforts through regular leadership huddles. Updates on cost-saving measures and healer engagement in the process were provided by Mr. Manfredo. Mr. Wagner concluded the session by reviewing financial performance, projections and CMS-related aspects. V. LUNCH VI. Physician Alignment Dr. Boyd presented an update on provider credentialing, outpatient care, clinics, call center, recruitment and retention. NRHA Board Study Session Minutes 3 February 18, 2023 VII. BREAK VIII. Inspire Health: Transition & Activation Mr. Manfredo provided an Inspire Health overview and update. Progress reports were shared on ongoing projects, including construction work at the porter Health Village, the Education Center remodel and the transition and activation timeline associated with relocating patients and healers from Porter to the HealthPlex campus in July 2024. Ms. Purvis provided an update on the Norman Forward projects. IX. Open Discussion Mr. Cubberley thanked the Executive team for the informative presentation, their planning, vision and leadership as we transition from Porter to the HealthPlex campus.
