Public Arts Board * March 8, 2021 * 4:00 pm, City Hall Building – Study Session Room
In Attendance: Cheryl Lockstone, Liz Barfield, Taylor Wagner, Douglas Shaw Elder, Lynne Sciano and Amy Johnson
Call to Order
Lockstone called the meeting to order at 4:04.

Guests: Dennis Brigham (NAC)
Approval of Minutes
Motion to approve February meeting minutes as presented was provided by Barfield; seconded by Johnson. All in favor; approved unanimously.
Finances
The finance report provided had very recent changes. An accurate update will be provided at the April meeting at which time they will be reviewed for
approval.
The finance report otherwise reflected the following:
Current balance of $77,307.61 (Art in Public Places)
January utility donations of $523.00
February utility donations of $523.00
Available funds of $78,353.61
Committed funds of $22,600.00 ($4,000 for ongoing maintenance; $4,000 artist honorariums; and $18,600 for bike racks).
Net available funds total $51,753.61
Item 1 – Artful Inlets
Barfield reported that she attended the informational session that was offered to artists interested in the project. The session was recorded so that it can
be accessed for future use.
Item 2 – Samo Ducky Update
Elder provided an update regarding this project. The call for artists has been posted to his own website as well as on the NAC site and PAB and NAC
Facebook pages. The deadline for submissions is March 29 and installation will take place in Summer 2021.
ACTION ITEM: Elder and Wagner will meet to determine future strategy for social media re: ducks, etc.
ACTION ITEM: Elder will create comprehensive list of ducks in need of potential repairs (now for removal or potentially later on) and give it to
Cheryl.
Item 3 – Bike Racks
Barfield reported that she talked to McPherson who said that the new racks will be delivered to the City around March 16—they will then be installed
shortly thereafter.
Item 4 – New Business
Lockstone explained that the PAB still needs to determine the extent of the damage done to the mosaic. This will help when budgeting for ducks and
other maintenance/repairs.
ACTION ITEM: Get quote for mosaic repairs.
ACTION ITEM: Determine how many ducks should be/will be included in inventory. Elder will create a plan.
