SOCIAL AND VOLUNTARY SERVICES COMMISSION Minutes of April 26, 2021 The Social and Voluntary Services Commission of the City of Norman, Cleveland County, State of Oklahoma, met for the Regular Meeting on this date at 5:30 p.m. Notice and Agenda of the meeting were posted at 201 W Gray Building A, the Norman Municipal Building, and at www.Normanok.gov twenty-four hours prior to the beginning of the meeting. Lisa Krieg called the meeting to order at 5:35 p.m. ITEM NO. 1 BEING: Roll Call MEMBERS PRESENT: Kristal Hamm Victoria Harrison Nancee Morris Angela Steinle Heidi Smith MEMBERS ABSENT: Joshua Hinkle Kurt Lee Loida Salmond Ann Way STAFF PRESENT: Lisa Krieg, CDBG/Grants Manager Tara Reynolds, Admin Tech ITEM NO. 2, BEING: Approval of the minutes from the September 21, 2020 meeting. Motion by Nancee Morris for approval of the minutes as submitted; Second by Victoria Harrison. All approve. ITEM NO. 3, BEING: Discussion of Site Visit Procedures for the Social & Voluntary Services Commission.  Site visits will be suspended this year due to the pandemic. The Commission would still like to view any videos the United Way produces. Staff will contact United Way and arrange for access to the material. SVSC April 26, 2021 ITEM NO. 4, BEING: Update of Expenditures. Remaining SVSC Funds 20-21: $93,903.39 *denotes no invoicing on their PO at all. Staff has contacted each agency and has been assured that all funding will be expended by June 15, 2021 with the exception of Aging Services Special Assistance Fund. These funds will be carried over if needed to address summer cooling bills. Aging Services: $1,875* Aging Services: $4,000* Among Friends: $10,000* Bethesda: $763 Big Brothers Big Sisters: $9,792* Bridges: $5,250 Catholic Charities: $10,000* CASP: $5,520 CCFI: $1,651.15 CSBI: $10,000* Envision Success: $1,500* Full Circle: $5,095 Heartline: $1,666.69 Infant Crises: $2,500* Mary Abbott: $10,000* Project Outreach: $752 Salvation Army: $10,000* Transition House: $205.19 Virtue Center: $3,333.36 ITEM NO. 5, BEING: Review of Application Timeline. The application form has been updated, and is available online. The Application deadline is June 2, 2021, and the Commission will meet June 14th to discuss the applications, and on June 28th to award the funding. Pending City Council budget approval, the funds available will be $225,000. The Commission asked staff to check on general non-profit funding in the proposed budget for next year. ITEM NO. 6, BEING Miscellaneous Announcements. None. ITEM NO. 7, BEING: Adjournment.
