June 14, 2021
The Social and Voluntary Services Commission of the City of Norman, Cleveland County, State
of Oklahoma, met for the Regular Meeting on this date at 5:30 p.m. Notice and Agenda of the
meeting were posted at 201 W Gray Building A, the Norman Municipal Building, and at
www.Normanok.gov twenty-four hours prior to the beginning of the meeting.
Lisa Krieg called the meeting to order at 5:35 p.m.
ITEM NO. 1 BEING: Roll Call

ITEM NO. 2, BEING: Approval of the minutes from the April 26, 2021 meeting.
Motion by Victoria Harrison to approve the minutes as submitted; Failure of a second. This item
is postponed to the next meeting.
ITEM NO. 3, BEING: Discussion regarding applications for funding received and any
additional information requested from applicants.
Able: Would like a breakdown of the planned expenditures, and to know how many
current clients they have. Who wrote the grant proposal? There is no % spent on
fundraising in their budget.
Aging Services: no questions
Assistance League: no questions
Bethesda: no questions
BBBS: no questions
Bridges: no questions
CAB: Clarification on their profit & loss statement.

CASA: How do they plan to track the activity passes and document the expenses? Do
they plan to diversify their funding?
CASP: no questions
Catholic Charities: Did they receive any CARES funding? Is the calculation of their
volunteer hours and the amount saved correct?
Crossroads: Where is camp held? How are the kids chosen to attend? Is this a day camp?
CSBI: Do all board members have voting rights?
Envision: How many people are being served, and of that number how many are
veterans?
Food & Shelter: How many people who lived in the cottages have been permanently
housed in the last year? Can there be some clarification on what the funds will be used
for?
Full Circle: no questions
Heartline: Where is the missing 7% of the budget?
Infant Crises: no questions
Legal Aid: no questions
Little Read Wagon: Are the board members related? Have they thought about
diversifying the board?
Mary Abbot House: no questions
Meals on Wheels: Where is prior SVSC funds categorized in their budget? It said they
haven’t received any government funding.
Pantry Partners: Do the volunteers get vetted? How will they handle liability issues?
Have they looked for a car and priced one?
Project Outreach: no questions
Salvation Army: How many people did they serve in 2020 in this program?
Share & Grow: Several issues with this application.
St. Francis: no questions
Thunderbird: no questions
Transition House: Where is the space for the outdoor activites? How many clients have
they served in the last year? What direction did they go for last year’s SVSC funding they
received?
Variety Care: What is the relationship (specifically financial) between the foundation and
the entity?
Virtue Center: no questions
Women's Resource Center: There is a missing % in the budget. How are the housing
units configured? How is rental income generated?

The next meeting is June 28th, and Lisa will bring pizza.
