CONTINUED BUSINESS
2025 Property Tax Resolution Amendment
Staff explained that the resolution presented on November 12, 2025,
had inadvertently included bank capacity. The revised resolution would
capture only the 1% increase allowed by Washington State law, resulting
in a levy rate of approximately $0.25 per $1,000 of assessed value.
Staff provided a financial analysis showing that the 1% increase would
generate approximately $6,000 in additional revenue. Due to the
average decrease in assessed property values, homeowners would
typically see only about a $2 annual increase in their MPD taxes, despite
the higher levy rate.
Motion to adopt the proposed property tax levy revised Resolution No.
25-01R as presented was made by Commissioner Hohimer and
seconded by Commissioner Lamanna. Motion carried 6-0.
PUBLIC COMMENT
No public comments were received.
ADJOURN
