MINUTES – There were no minutes available There was not a meeting in July. COMMUNICATIONS: The City Attorney swore in the new members of the Board. They are Roger Quinn and Ricky Martin. They joined the other members of the Board. NEW BUSINESS: The Acting Secretary swore in those to speak. Variance #V25-18: Mrs. Myra Bundy has made application for a variance to install a swimming pool in the side yard of a property in the R-2 (Medium Density Residential) district where the district only permits swimming pools in the rear yard at 502 16th Ave. South. Mrs. Bundy stated that they have a couple of children who have disabilities and the pool would be a benefit for them. There was a concern previously about the pool being in the front yard but they are requesting they be allowed to place in the side yard. The Board discussed setbacks. There was discussion concerning surrounding properties that have pools in the front yard. The Board discussed what the hardship would have to be . It could not be the house placement on the lot. SRAFF REPORT: Mr. Caldwell presented for the staff. The Chairman called for a motion. The Motion to deny because of no hardship on the land was made by Mr. McGonigal and seconded by Ms. Braswell.
