Minutes for Norwich Baseball Stadium Authority Regular Monthly Meeting Wednesday February 11, 2015 (6:00 p.m.) City Hall Norwich 1. Call to order. Chairperson, Mike Jewell MJ (6:00pm) NBSA Members Present: Gary Schnip, GS; Sean Ryan, SR; Michael Jewell, MJ; Tom Cummings, TC; Robert Reed, RR; Peter Slocum, PS, Gary Carignan, GC; Matthew Fortin, MF, Bob Demars, BD Members Absent: none Also Present: Eric Knighton, EK – CT Tigers Representative 2. Review of January 14, 2015 Meeting Minutes. Motion made by RR and seconded by TC passed (8-0) to accept the meeting minutes as presented. 3. Public Comment - None 4. Chairman’s Report (MJ) – check received from CT Tigers totaling $101,684.42 covering the full balance of the police and fire, and $48,750.57 toward rent and utilities. 5. Correspondence a. Sent: None b. Received: i. Email from EK detailing Stadium repairs required dated 2/11/2015. ii. email from Sandy Kuchta dated February 11, 2015 detailing recent statement sent to EK regarding outstanding balance of City of Norwich Police & Fire Bills and rent offset (attached). A second email from Sandy Kuchta with the December financial reports. (attached) 6. Budget Committee: Tony Madeira and Sandy Kuchta dropped by meeting unexpectedly to answer any questions the Authority had regarding financial reports provided by Sandy 7. Operations Committee (GS/Organization Representatives) a. Stadium update GS – received EK letter with stadium wish list. All items appear to be valid and justifiable. GS will prepare a capital improvement list to add to the capital improvement items mentioned by EK to the general list of items naturally occurring due to the age of the stadium  b. A brief description and discussion on each item of EK wish list TC and GS will investigate some items for the appropriate repair approach. c. A couple of cracks in the walls could potentially represent structural items on the stadium d. Some of the seat components are broken and need to be repaired. EK to investigate the seat manufacturer and provide details to the NBSA is soon as the information is found e. Organization’s Monthly Report EK – i. DOT signs are being replaced on I-395 and EK is working with Mayor Hinchey to follow-up on details of the signs to see how Dodd Stadium signs can continue to be available when the new signs are placed on I-395 8. Old Business: Letter to be drafted to be submitted to the City Council including all the major capital improvement items. 9. New Business: None 10.
