Minutes for Norwich Baseball Stadium Authority Regular Monthly Meeting Wednesday, February 10, 2015, (6 P.M.) City Hall, Norwich, CT 1. Call to order. Chairperson Mike Jewell MJ (6:00pm) NBSA Members Present: Michael Jewell MJ, Tom Cummings TC, Gary Schnip GS, Peter Slocum PS, Robert Reed RR. Sean Ryan SR, Gary Carignan GC, Matthew Fortin MF Members Absent: Bob Demers BD Also Present: Eric Knighton EK – CT Tigers Rep. 2. Review of January 13, 2016 meeting minutes. Motion made to accept by RR. 2nd by TC. Motion to accept minutes as presented passed in favor (6-0) 3. Public Comment - None 4. Chairman Reports: MJ reported that a check for some of the past balance due was received on 1/13/2016 from the CT Tigers. Made recommendation to CT Tigers to bring balance current. 5. Correspondence a. Sent: Letter sent to John Bilda and City Council on November 18th that the NBSA had not heard back. b. Received – none Budget Committee: Sandra Kuchta sent the Stadium Authority financials to all members of the NBSA and they were unanimously approved. Motion to accept by RR. 2nd by GS. Passed (6- 0) 6. Operations Committee (GS/Organization Representatives): a. The Sprinkler contractor company was brought into stadium to fix 3 backflow preventers. Work was completed. b. Stadium Update EK provided MLB fan safety news release recommendation for additional netting beyond current poles to include 70’ up each side of the stadium. On Dodd stadium this length would end approximately mid dugout. GS recommends getting proposals from structural engineering firms for options on how such netting could be secured. Received proposal to E2 Engineers of New London for specification and development of proposal. GS will reach out to discuss proposal with principals of E2 Engineers. EK will reach out to other clubs to see if they have design, expected costs and timelines to work from for our project. c. GS mentioned again the report done that says stadium lighting is sufficient for this season to comply with MLB regulations. A recommendation from lighting consultant that before next season NBSA replace all the lights using LED lights. Results of the recommendation is contained in the report that MJ will forward to City Council. 7. Organization’s Monthly Report EK a. Old Renaissance castle still in back parking lot. Working on getting removed. 8. Old Business: none  a. NBSA has not received any response to the Capital improvement recommendations letter dated November 18, 2015 sent to John Bilda and City Council. b. The Renaissance building has not yet been removed from the back parking lot. 9. New Business: none 10. Adjournment: Motion to adjourn by SR. 2nd by MF.
