Meeting Minutes for Norwich Baseball Stadium Authority Wednesday, March 8, 2017 (6:00 p.m.) City Hall, Norwich 1. Call to Order by Chairperson, Mike Jewell MJ (6:00 p.m.) NBSA Members Present: Michael Jewell, MJ; Gary Carignan; GC; Gary Schnip, GS; Sean Ryan, SR, Bob Demars, BD, Tom Cummings; TC, Peter Slocum PS, Robert Reed RR, Matthew Fortin, MF Members Absent: none Also Present: CT Tigers Representative – Dave Schermerhorn; DS 2. Review of February 8, 2016 NBSA meeting minutes: Motion made by SR seconded by RR passed (8-0) to accept meeting minutes as presented. Minutes will be amended to indicate that TC was present, incorrectly indicated that he was absent. 3. Public Comment: None 4. Chairman’s Report/Correspondence: MJ reported he received a letter of concern regarding the safety issues related to the parking lot lights being out from Dave Schermerhorn of CT Tigers. Received email related to Ethics Training. MJ suggested to everyone to take the online training as it takes about 30 minutes to complete. 5. Budget Committee – Sandy Kuchta provided February 2017 financials prior to meeting. 6. Operations Committee: GS reported toured stadium with Marzac, sealing should be straight forward. If signs around the concourse are taken down the will they recommend painting behind them. Else if not, he suggested painting around them. GS suggested a separate PO to paint steel columns. GS thinks it will take a few days to seal the blocks and approximately 2 weeks to paint the columns. Roof repair company came in to repair roof and evaluate other roof concerns. No response from Jayfro. Sprinkler inspection received passed and sent to Fire Marshall. a. Stadium update: see Operations Committee report b. Organizations Monthly report -DS said things are getting ready for the season. Inspected ballpark and provided letter of items that need to be addressed over the next year or so. GS will review list of items with DS to see if anything can be done 7. Old Business: none  8. New Business: ethics training needs to be completed by March 31st. 9. Submitted by Gary Carignan  Stadium Financials February 2017 REVENUES for the month of February 2017 were $5,645.89 in comparison to prior year February 2016 $4,737.87. This is a $908.02 increase consisting of an increase from Utility Reimbursement of $940.36, and a decrease in interest income of $32.34 (NOTE: interest for the month of February has not been calculated as of 3/6/17.) YTD Revenues for February 2017 were $11,237.09 in comparison to prior YTD February 2016 $9,406.99. This is a $1,830.10 increase consisting of an increase from Utility Reimbursement of $1,838.18 and a decrease from Interest Income $8.08. EXPENSES for the month of February 2017 were $20,999.25 in comparison to prior year February 2016 $21,553.72. This is a decrease of $554.47 consisting of an increase to Lighting of $940.36, an increase in Stadium Repairs of $225.00, and a decrease to Depreciation of $1,719.83. YTD Expenses for February 2017 were $41,613.38 in comparison to prior YTD February 2016 $46,273.02. This is a $4,659.64 decrease consisting of an increase in Lighting of $1,838.18, a decrease in Audit Fees of $83.16, a decrease in Stadium Repairs of $2,975.00, and a decrease in depreciation of $3,439.66. NET LOSS for February 2017 was $15,353.36 compared to NET LOSS for February 2016 of $16,815.85. This is after depreciation of $14,678.35 in 2017 and $16,398.18 in 2016. CASH BALANCE for February 2017 was $115,854.82 in comparison to prior month January 2017 $122,090.59. This is a decrease of $6,235.77. This is due to an increase in accounts receivable of $5,645.89, an increase in accounts payable of $85.12 and the monthly net loss of $675.00 excluding non-cash depreciation expense.
