Minutes for Norwich Baseball Stadium Authority Meeting minutes Wednesday August 9, 2017 (6:00 p.m.) City Hall, Norwich 1. Call to Order by Chairperson, Mike Jewell MJ (6:00 p.m.) NBSA Members Present: Michael Jewell, MJ; Bob Demars, BD; Peter Slocum PS; Gary Schnip, GS; Robert Reed RR; Sean Ryan, SR; Tom Cummings; TC, Matthew Fortin: MF Members Excused: Gary Carignan; GC Also Present: CT Tigers Representative – Dave Schermerhorn; DS 2. Review of June 14, 2017 NBSA meeting minutes: Motion made by PS seconded by SR passed (8-0) to accept meeting minutes as presented. 3. Public Comment: None 4. Chairman’s Report: MJ made note of the email from DS stating that the new netting was installed and proved useful as it already blocked a bat from leaving the field area and avoiding the seating area. There was also a report of the underside of one of the luxury suites failing during one of the games. 5. Financial Report: The financial report was distributed and motion to accept was made by TC and seconded by MF. GS pointed out the fact that 50,000 plus has been spent in recent months on maintenance and not on capital improvements. DS will continue to work on getting payments for past due amounts. 6. Operations Committee: GS reported that the paving work has been completed and the work on the parking lot lights should be completed this week. Netting installed. 2 new AC units have been replaced in the skybox units at a cost of $2,958.00. There was a letter sent from Eagle Roofing giving a quote for replacing pipe flashing and repair damaged siding for $3,130.00. Not sure who requested this quote. GS follow up and find out where this came from. The 3 air conditioning/heating units in the Club House and Batting Cage section of the stadium have been repaired 10 times in the past year. These need to be replaced as 2 of the units are 25 years old. MJ will contact the City Manager about these units. GS will get all the specific information to MJ to compose a letter to the City Manager. 7. Old Business: None. 8. New Business: None. 9. Motion to adjourn was made by PC and seconded by BD at 6:22pm.
