Minutes for Norwich Baseball Stadium Authority Meeting minutes Wednesday March 13, 2019 (6:00 p.m.) City Hall, Norwich 1. Call to Order by Chairperson, Mike Jewell MJ (6:00 p.m.) NBSA Members Present: Michael Jewell, MJ; Bob Demars, BD; Gary Schnip, GS; Robert Reed RR; Sean Ryan, SR; Matthew Fortin, MF; Tom Cummings; TC; Fred Phelps, FP Members Excused Absent: Gary Carignan; GC Also Present: CT Tigers Representative – Dave Schermerhorn; DS 2. Review of January 9, 2019 NBSA meeting minutes: Motion made by SR seconded by MF passed (8-0) to accept meeting minutes as presented. 3. Public Comment: None 4. Chairman’s Report: MJ called for a motion to accept the financial report as presented. Seconded by GS. Motion passed 8-0. MJ asked DS when we might expect the next payment as we are still looking for the outstanding balance from Tigers. DS says another payment on the balance should be made in April. 5. Operations Committee: GS reported that there has been flooding in the electrical closet. NPU and Prime Electric will be brought in to look at the problem. GS will schedule this. GS and TC brought to the Boards attention of a problem in the Clubhouse stairway of an exposed beam and cracking in the wall from water leaking in. GS spoke with Tony at City Hall about doing a structural analysis. TC presented a letter from 2015 to the City stating the walls and ceiling in this area and other areas need attention and needs to be sealed sooner than later. GS suggested he get 3 proposals for what it would cost to fix this problem. A motion was made by FP to have GS to get the 3 quotes on the work. Seconded by BD. Motion passed 8-0. DS reported that they are about 2 weeks away from ramping up the stadium turning on the water and preparing the facility for the college and high school games that will take place in the spring. The carpet in the skyboxes remained dry after the last snow storm. 6. Old Business: None 7. New Business: None 8. Adjournment: Motion made by TC seconded by MF to adjourn the meeting.
