JOURNAL OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORWICH DECEMBER 6, 2011 The organizational meeting of the Council elected November 8, 2011 was held December 6, 2011, at 7:30 PM in Council Chambers. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Nystrom. The opening prayer was read by Ald. Bettencourt, Ald. Jaskiewicz led the members in the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem was song by Jill Brennan Assistant City Clerk, Roseanne Muscarella administered the oath of office to Councilpersons Desaulniers, Noblick, Braddock, Hinchey, Bettencourt, and Jaskiewicz for the term December 1, 2011 to December 2, 2013. Ald. Hinchey made a motion, seconded by Ald. Noblick it was unanimously voted to adopt the following resolution introduced by Mayor Nystrom: RESOLVED, that Pete Desaulniers, be and hereby is, elected Council President Pro Tempore of the Council of the City of Norwich for a term to end December 2, 2013. Assistant City Clerk, Roseanne Muscarella administered the oath of office to President Pro Tempore Pete Desaulniers for the term December 1, 2011 to December 2, 2013. Ald. Bettencourt made a motion, seconded by Ald. Jaskiewicz it was unanimously voted to postpone the following resolution introduced by Mayor Nystrom: RESOLVED, that_________________, be, and hereby is, appointed Town and City Clerk of Norwich for a term of two years. Upon motion of Ald. Jaskiewicz, seconded by Ald. Hinchey, it was unanimously voted to adopt the following resolution introduced by Mayor Nystom: RESOLVED, that Michael E. Driscoll, Esq., be, and hereby is, appointed Corporation Counsel for the City of Norwich for a term of two years. Upon motion of Ald.Desaulniers, seconded by Ald. Public Works & Captial Improvements Committee (3): Ald. Desaulniers, Hinchey and Noblick. B. Public Safety Committee (3): Ald. Braddock, Bettencourt and Noblick. Upon motion of Ald. Braddock, seconded by Ald. Hinchey, it was unanimously voted to adopt the following resolution: RESOLVED, that the council member listed below, be, and hereby are, appointed to the Public Parking Commission for a term to expire December 2, 2013 1. Pete Desaulniers (D) 2. Tucker Braddock (D) 3. Charlie Jaskiewicz (D) Upon motion of Ald. Braddock, seconded by Ald. Hinchey, it was unanimously voted to adopt the following resolution: RESOLVED, that the council members listed below, be, and hereby are, appointed to the Harbor Management Committee for a term to expire December 2, 2013 1. Tucker Braddock (D) 2. Charlie Jaskiewicz (D) There being no further business, Mayor Nystrom invited the public to a reception in honor of the City Council members. Upon motion of Ald.
