Commission for Persons with Disabilities Regular Meeting Minutes March 7th, 2019, Room 319 6:00 PM Present: Committee Chair Elanah Sherman, Kevin Saythany, Mark Marcy, Kevin Harkins, and Cynthia Litton. Absent: Laurie Messore, and Lottie Scott. Others Present: Eileen Rose, Barbara Steiger, and Patricia Bridge. Call to Order: Elanah called the meeting to order at 6:20 PM. (Meeting was called to order late because quorum was not present until then.) Determination of Quorum: It was determined a quorum was present (5/7). Approval of Minutes: On a motion from Kevin H, seconded by Cyndi, the February Meeting Minutes were approved as amended. (“Take advantage of” to be changed to “take undue advantage of.”) Citizen Comments: None. Communications: None. ADA Training (Presented by Elanah) Old Business: Commission Vacancies: Elanah is attending the May 1 Rotary meeting to introduce the Commission and try to gain more members. Charging Stations - NPU Speaker Date: Cyndi asked if someone else could arrange a speaker from NPU. Elanah will ask Brigid if she is available to do so. Westgate Shopping Center - Update: The Norwich Building Official has spoken with the owner and the owner has agreed to create accessible parking. The Norwich Zoning Officer has written a letter to the owner and will be following up. New Business: New Vice Chairman: The Commission has not had a Vice Chair for almost a year. Elanah nominated Kevin Harkins, seconded by Mark Marcy; Kevin was unanimously elected. Adjournment: On a motion from Kevin H, seconded by Cyndi, the meeting adjourned at 7:20 PM.
