BOARD OF REVIEW, DANGEROUS BUILDINGS
MINUTES OF THE MARCH 24, 2010 REGULAR MEETING
Committee members present: Chairman Gary Schnip, Sofee Noblick, Jim Quarto
Richard Caron and Andy Zeeman.
Committee members not present:
Others present: James Troeger, Alderman Tucker Braddock and Darlene Fedus-
Papineau
The meeting was called to order at 5:30. A quorum was present and all members
present were voting.
Agenda items 1, 2 & 3:
The minutes of the February 24, 2010 meeting were reviewed. Upon motion by
Tucker Braddock and second by Sofee Noblick, the Committee voted
unanimously to approve the minutes as submitted.
4. Communications: None
5. Blight updates/concerns:
1. 105 Stonington Road: Jim Troeger informed the Board that the property
owner attempted to secure the property by placing plywood on the structure.
Mr. Troeger informed the owner that this is not acceptable and will need to
come down. The owner stated he would take it down in the fall. The Board
discussed the idea of a possible controlled burn. Mr. Troeger will check with
the NFD.
2. 45 Uncas Street: There has been a hearing scheduled on the short calendar
to set a hearing date on April 12th, 2010. A letter of complaint was received
from the adjoining property owner and referred to Corporation Counsel.
3. 98 Washington Street-Cassidy house: The owner was a no-show at the
meeting. The telephone number is out of service. Mr. Troeger stated he
would send out a letter on the property maintenance code requirements.
4. 120 Laurel Hill: Contractors have been seen on the property. Tarps have
been on roofs and dumpsters are on property. Mr. Troeger will have Ed
Martin re-check the property and check to see if building permits are in place.
5. 60 Broad Street: Property may have been sold. Dumpsters are on the
property and one is full of debris.
6. 17 West Town Street: The scaffolding is down.
7. Tarryk Farm: The property has been deemed secure by the Building
Department.

8. 554 East Main Street: A phone call was placed to the owner and a message
left. As of this date there has not been a response from property owner. The
Board stated that the building is dangerous if there is illegal entry but there is
not immediate danger of falling down.
9. Public Comments: None
10. Agenda Setting and Adjournment:
The agenda for the 04/28/2010 meeting was set. Upon motion by Jim Quarto
and second by Tucker Braddock the Committee voted unanimously to adjourn at
6:35 p.m.
